Is he the captain? I thought Mushi was?
Grats to them all!

3 pages on this topic, 287 on liquid, 181 on EG. And people were genuinely finding the CN crowd too biased toward their home team #thinking
Anyhow, great play in DAC indeed, gg !

mushi please dont touch wk again ever in your life in pro play.
Edit : This loss will hurt. Even if Mineski beat Empire and Complexity they get 2 wins which FlyToMoon already has; the only other game is with Liquid. On the other hand FlyToMoon should beat Empire which keeps them above Mineski considering Mineski loses to Liquid. Top 2 in group looks like a distant dream and 1 surprise loss vs Empire or Complexity could possibly throw them out. That game 2 vs FlyToMoon... if Mushi even followed any goddam in-game WK guide Mineski would have 2-0'd FlyToMoon and things would seem a lot easier for them.
Lucky Mineski already has 3k+ DPC points which should get them the TI invite irrespective of their performance from here onwards.

Why is this thread so dead? Am I the only 1 so hopeful with Mineski?
Nice win on Day 4. Now if they beat Empire they are through to the next round at least.

Maybe they juz take these games as practice for coming more important tournament. I can see Jabz meepo and Mushi played as supp.

I guess... But I am sure they will be more serious in the play-offs.
And anyway, they should focus more on doing well in TI as they are practically surely getting direct invite.

I'm a big Mineski fan!
They are a good team, but they might be the streakiest team in Dota 2 history. I'm still confident they can top 4 at Epicenter, but the road isn't super easy for them.
They have a few more tournaments to iron out the kinks too, so they should hopefully be in good shape by the time TI comes around.

They would only have to beat OG in a bo1 most probably to get to top 4. I would favour MIneski 65-35 given the recent results.
And what better preparation for TI than facing and beating or going down hard fought 1-2s or 2-3s to teams like LIquid or VP?
They are doing ok at the moment, but their life will certainly get more difficult once people start paying more attention to iceiceice's pangolier.

It turned out to be against VP for the 4th place at Epicenter. Still they managed to stay ahead whole game only to end up throwing hard in the last 5 minutes which lost them the game.
In group stage, if they did not throw that WK game (game 2) vs FlyToMoon, they would have played OG for the fourth place which should have been easier.
Mineski is a pretty good team now, but they need to stop throwing if they want to pull off consistent good results in big tournaments.

Sad performance in Changsha. I was honestly expecting them to beat Newbee and secure a top 4 finish. :-(
I hope ESL is different. Mineski can actually secure a top 4 spot at ESL with just 1 BO3 win against Newbee / Optic. Then again, a BO1 against LFY can be really tricky and they can crash out in group stage also.
Though practically they are pretty much through to TI8, I hope they finish in top 4 in ESL and Supermajor and get some momentum before TI.
|
Even sadder performance in ESL! This was probably their best chance at Top 4 before TI and they only managed to beat one team. I would feel better if their loss was well-fought and contested (like the BO1 loss to VP), but both games were stomps by Pain. China Supermajor is just next week and really, I don't see how they can turn things around before then. I was thinking their play was shaky but acceptable after DAC until now and then this tournament they just fell off.... From their coach's interview they were about to disband/roster change before DAC, I really hope they rally before TI but it doesn't look good.
EDIT: Also I should probably stop watching their games, after DAC they almost always lose when I watch live lol.

This team is a mess right now.
Mushi and Moon are the only two players playing well right now; the other three have been inconsistent at best (NB) and downright terrible at worst (iceiceice).
I don't understand what the fuck 71 is drafting, I don't understand why iceiceice is playing the game practically solo and constantly feeding away dumb kills, I don't understand why Jabz cannot fucking dual lane as a support.
This team's problems are way deeper than just a couple of mistakes; they have no idea how to play dota 2 at a top level right now. They either need a patch where roaming is good again or they need to use the two months before TI to completely reinvent themselves and how they play.

If I remember correctly that's what they did with DAC- took some time off to focus and retool their strategy/skills. When their really tight schedule was announced, I remember some Mineski fans were worried that they wouldn't have time to adapt to the patches and new meta, but I thought they would be able to push through and at least have a top 4 place in one tournament (I even thought maybe a few of them). Of course they've been pretty inconsistent even before DAC, but LGD was in 3 finals in a row and won 2, so they're an example that that kind of consistency is possible. At least Mineski can reset after the Supermajor and I hope they will be able to bounce back.

I'm a little disappointed in Mineski's performance today; though I didn't necessarily expect them to come out guns a-blazing with a new roster and role changes.
I'm more disappointed in Febby; while Kpii, JT, and Moon were inconsistent over the qualifier (each made some mistakes but had some bright moments too, the kind of growing pains you might expect with a roster like this) and Mushi played pretty well (at least imo), Febby had absolutely no impact in any single game over this entire major qualifier. Since there's not many supports to choose from in SEA, they either have to find a way to get him activated and on the same page with the rest or get risky with a lesser known support player from somewhere else.
Losing Ninjaboogie hurt this team really badly; I'm absolutely convinced that Ninjaboogie made this team work when they were good last season and supports like him in SEA are extremely rare finds.

They are many supp player in SEA, but not sure why not being picked up. See how successful xNova in LGD and ahfu in LFY. Usually korean player hard to mix with non-korean player, maybe the play style and understanding of the games are difficult.

Well played from Mineski, they really were the better ones in this series, however The lack of experience on some situations cost them Games 1 and 3. This team looks amazing - they should stick togheter for next season!
GGs to Secret, they showed why they are so good.

Yeah so much respect to Mineski. Did not see this coming after watching their previous games this season
|
They used the time before TI well! This team played in the best series of the tournament so far and has really improved; next year this team will probably be the best team in SEA if they stick together or if they only roster change one player.
Really proud of this team and what they did in Shanghai =)

Seems like they'll be going through roster changes even with the great result they had at TI:
|
V1lat mentioned on his podcast that kpii and ragingpotato seem to be looking for a new team as well which means they have actually disbanded.
Presume Nikobaby wants to play in EU again and giving his performance during TI he may get a shot at a promising team.
