I dunno how much they have been practicing outside of pubs. Feels like they are just defaulting to Miracle plus 4. Looks like they are still having fun though which is super encouraging with these solid results.

That was a fun tournament to watch, good to see the consistency they were able to show in the group stages. Playoffs were not as convincing but yet another finals appearance shows that they haven't fallen off at all. Could have ended at 3rd given FTM's performance but experience and cooler heads prevailed there.

With regards to the finals all I have to say is that we could have won that as well. LGD were better at small things and managed to hold on to their advantages whereas we somewhat atypically gave ours away, that g3 bottom rax fight being a prime example.

Whoever is shitting on the drafts, I would like to question whether shit drafts allow a team to place top 4 in 9/10 events they have played this season? I know Liquid isn't following every flavour of the week trend, and Kuro does sometimes insist on letting through heroes that everyone is screaming him to ban (I was thoroughly clenched when they let FTM have Doom in g2 and g3 of that series, shanghai major flashbacks) but somehow they seem to be always playing for the championship. Current patch does not really favour Mind_Control or Gh and then throwing Matu under the bus too leaves Liquid often at 4p1ish strategies, but if it works don't fix it I'd say.

ESL One Birmingham is yet another chance to grab that Major title and I'd be surprised if we are not in the top 4 again.
I play children's card games and watch a lot of dota, CS and HS

I think Liquid just needs to take a serious break before TI. It feels like a lot of teams made the mistake of attending too many events and now they're not taking enough time off to recover from overworking themselves. They all claim they're tired so they take a break but then a couple of months later, they're tired again because they didn't attended too many events.

Good strat with the morph first pick leads to us playing +2 Bo3s if we want to go all the way.

I knew I made a mistake when I bet my one token on them but I'm a DEDICATED fan so I put that one token on them anyways. That one token is the only obligation token that they're getting this tournament, I need to follow my gut and make some battlepoints. If they want my tokens, they better earn them!

Also, Matumbaman keeps getting outclassed in the mid lane.

that draft was good, the execution was awful. Maybe instead of picking Beastmaster they could have picked a better position 4 and give the SK to MC.

I've said in the past that GH's hero pool is garbage and I still stand by that! Haters, I'd quote you but the last game is all the proof I need.

I think the two of the big problems right now for Liquid is getting GH adjusted to the new meta and Matu needs to actually start winning mid.

It's all good, saving strats for TI + getting the target of their back, no doubt all part of Kuro master plan.
Is tactical crashing out of the tournament after group stage next? We shall see soon!

On more serious note, I hope they are indeed just having fun and getting ready for the preTI bootcamp and tryharding again.

P.S.: kun3 lul so sour.

GH Got owned on SK. But the reason he did, was not that he doesn't know how to play that hero. Liquid drafted Weak laner - Morph in to a very weak support if 2v2 - Rhasta.
Then they got a bad matchup mid, and evenish - top - they were forced to trade kills to slow enemy carries, until morph comes online. That was the only way to win, but in the brawl opponents got bounty - as simple as that. When you open with a hero locked to position one it makes it very easy for the opponent to play around it.

Imagine if instead of morph the first two were NP + SK -completly different, open draft. So you have time, and ways to adjust.

Even the draft we lost with, i really thought kuro's plan is to invoker last pick, and put DK offlane on MC. I mean they got 3 long disables to give invoker free kills. After laning you can roam with DK + SK + Rhasta, to create space for morph, and give the invoker the kills. Like that you give a greedier draft a way to make it to 30 mins, without being stomped, then you got the lategamee with Invoker + DK + Morph. IMO much higher % iwn condition, than to force yourselves to brawl opponents with bounty in the lineup.

I missed the first game but I'm glad they won it.

It's also nice to see Kuro on KOTL again over GH. I've seen the hero work better for them on Kuro than GH mainly because Pos 4 KOTL stopped being good a long time ago.

I honestly don't have any idea what Liquid is doing or why they're doing it

I lost all hope for them after the first series against Pain. The only thing they've done this tournament is feed out of their minds. One person gets picked off, someone else joins in to give the enemies another free kill. They've been unbelievably bad this tournament, it's a joke.
