Yeah, I think so.

pls secret beat og plssss :}}}

There wont be tiebreakers no matter what? Lol

What happens if OG beat Secret 2-1 and Liquid beat Navi 2-0? Both 2-2 in matches and 5-5 in games.
|
Nox made it sound like H2H was more important than game win/loss score but I'm not aware of an official source covering tiebreaker rules

Based on what Noxville said, the only thing that matters is match score between tied teams, not match score overall. In this case, Liquid would have a record of 2-3 against OG/Secret, which would be the worst of the three in any scenario in which there's a three-way tiebreaker. + Show Spoiler + If OG 2-0 Secret, then OG is 3-2, Secret is 2-2 If OG 2-1 Secret, then OG is 3-3, Secret is 2-2
Either way, Liquid comes in last with 2-3
Because of this, the conditions for Liquid going through to main stage are simply: - Liquid beats Navi - Secret wins at least one of their two matches
+ Show Spoiler + Full explanation would be: If Liquid lose to Navi, the best scenario is a 3 way 1-3 tie between OG/Liquid/Navi, which OG will win.
So, assuming Liquid beats Navi: If Secret beats OG, tiebreaker rules don't matter because TL would be 2-2, and OG 3-1 If Secret beats LFY, the worst that can happen is TL and OG tying for third. 2-way tiebreaks are decided by head-to-head results, to TL goes through.

Who would have thought coming into this tournament that one of Liquid or OG would be eliminated in the group stage? The two teams anyone would have projected to top the group. Just goes to show, nothing can be taken for granted in Dota.
Even the series against Navi tomorrow is anything but a guaranteed win. I've lost count of the number of times Liquid has gone home from a tournament after losing what everyone called a free win. Hope the boys can maintain their composure and play their best tomorrow.

not sure what to think about the tiebreaker rule but liquid fate literally on secret's hand lol
although ofc they have to beat navi first

In Puppey we trust... also Kuro because it's best to always respect opponents even if they aren't doing too hot atm!
|
Well fuck this.
Yapzor being sick, or what ever, most likely means Secret will lose both matches and with that Liquid is out from the main event.
|
Well if Secret lose both their games they will be 4:4. and if Liquid 2:0s Navi they will be 5:5. So If the games won are counted Liquid gets ahead. Also If direct encounters are counted and secret cant play this means that liquid won vs og, and lost to secret, secret won vs liquid lost to OG, and OG won to secret and lost to Liquid. This is 3 way tie that can only be decided with coin flip or tiebreakers. There is enough time for tiebreakers. And if it is decided by some other weird mechanic and Liquid doesn't make it through... fuck this.
|
Alright requirement 1 achieved. Now it's all on Secret.
Come on, Yappy. You can't let a little thing like food poisoning hold you back. Go beat LFY or OG!

It's by map score between tied teams so in either OG vs Secret 2:0 or 2:1 we're out. Given Secret lose to LFY.

I'm not so sure about your 2-1 scenario.
Liquid is 2-2 in series, 5-5 in matches. OG is 1-2 in series, 3-4 in matches with Secret game left. If they win 2-1 => 2-2 in series, 5-5 in matches - equalling Liquid, but h2h Liquid won. Please tell me if I'm being stupid, but to me it looks like OG needs to 2-0 Secret to safely advance.
Also - What happens if Secret lose both games 0-2? They'd be 2-2 and 4-4. In terms of matches, is 5-5 better or 4-4? One has a win more, but also a loss more....

It's head to head as a tiebreaker, so if og 2-way ties with liquid then liquid wins even if og is 5-4 and liquid 5-5. A 2 way requires to OG win vs. secret and secret winning vs lgd.
If secret loses both matches then it's a 3 way tie, as everyone took games from each other the tiebreaker then is maps won from each other, making it:
Liquid is 2-3 (won a 2-1 lost 2-0) OG is either 3-2 or 3-3 (lost 1-2 and won 2-0 or 2-1) Secret is 2-2 or 3-2 (won 2-0 and lost to og as a requirement for 3 way tie)
Liquid is out with the 2-3.

according to Liquipedia
Tiebreaker rules: Two teams: Head to head result Three or more teams: Match Score between the tied teams Game Score between the tied teams Results vs non-tied teams (starting with the top seeded team) If the tie can not be broken, an additional set of games will be played.
I think OG and Secret go through? OG lost to liquid (2-1) OG beat Secret (2-0) Secret beat Liquid (2-0).
OG has best map score 3-2, Secret 2-2, Liquid 2-3
If Secret beat OG nothing else matters and Secret and Liquid go through, same if they beat LGFY. Liquid needs Secret to win one of the BO3 for them to go through otherwise they are out
|
Well, then lets hope that Secret didnt forfeit their game against LFY. As i dont see it in the list anymore.

Pray for Yapzor recovery! Not only because he's a human being who deserves peace, love, and health but because the fate of Liquid at Epicenter is in his sickly hands
