Yes I have heard that quite often as well and I always accepted it.Now I am not so sure, but I feel like this should still be a thing.
If you play a hero a lot and you die a lot you know the boundaries of the hero and thereforeyou know pretty well what counter it.

IO and KOTL have literally been the first two bans against liquid in every game at EpiCenter

Probably because i haven't seen them playing it to be honest.
Just checked, none of the times VP actually picked io they've done it in the first phase. They seem to prioritize treant and troll in first phase, don't think it's worth for liquid to ban it in the first phase.

Just rechecked NaVi banned Kotl Tusk one game but other than that the first two bans have been kotl IO for every liquid game

VP first picked IO vs EG but it was non-factor in that game.
Basically just healing ward for mid Ursa.

Now we either win a hardfought bo3 where each game is a 966, or we will get destroyed by VP.

Liquid is really not a candidate anymore for a direct invite compared to Secret or LFY.

Shame, I'm still at work - I could only see bits of the match, but those bits looked great.
Kotl Ban incoming next game...
Even without being a Liquid fan - I want them to beat VP so badly now, after reading that Artstyle interview.

LIQUID! LIQUID! LIQUID!
bring back epicenter trophy home

I want a matu Bristle in this next game (with a kotl would be golden)

So glad to see Liquid pull something like this out against VP. I hope they make it to the grand finals and meet EG and we'll finally see Liquid play all the Kiev powerhouses in BO3s/BO5s.
