While I agree the team looked (very) bad in a bunch of their games I also see a couple of positive signs. Especially the drafting improved but also it seemed like the rust is slowly fading. I am not sure how much of an accurate comparison it is, but when Astralis (CS:GO) lost their "up and coming talent" in February they had very few options for a replacement. They went with another promising talent who had until then had inconsistent performances and was removed from another team earlier. It took Astralis around 6 months to integrate him into their system but since the social dynamic seemingly is working out well they were able to return to an even higher level than before the roster change. The same could be the case with Pajkatt but I think it is way too early to accurately judge it as a viewer at least. I think he played better with last season Optic than he had in a long time and that might be credited to the "system" of the team, the role of the captain (and potentially a coach) etc. But perhaps I am just missing the obvious clinging to hope instead. I also think that the notion of "winning TI because you are lucky" is a weird one. I completely agree that luck plays a factor but I think the pace with which the team learned and grew explains a fair bit more.

what better way to get rid of rust than to play major qual, minor qual & minor LAN in quick succession
how'd they go yesterday? I missed the games & surprised they 2-0 NiP but still, AM is a play-by-yourself kind of hero like Black^ used to play his own game when VG were top team post TI4, but absolutely surprised they also won with drow?

If that was the game I recall he won mid (watched too many). Went and killed ancients. Got a huge farm lead and then they won. Basically they could have put TA there and it would have been the same thing.

thanks Yurie, I watched replay based on what you said & surprised drow wasn't ganked more often & then Topson got a blink! Guessing QoP & Jug seems weak or NiP lacked something. Really like N0tail on micro support heroes.

Whole Account just to get banned after one post? Hmm... Hope it is worth the time.
OG look lost in the new patch, their drafts are questionable most of the tame, and what is way worse - similar. Opponents can easily prepare. Any decent team has no problem wining the draft and then the game. I don't think Ana is the problem here, hope N0tail can find the way.
|
Yeah I hope they're deliberately drafting the Rogue Knight to show how bad the hero is because it's in no man's land
|
I will never get why OG is so inconsistent, of course they had a break and a new player, but the problem seems about draft and strategy. Why pick Razor every game? It's not a good hero right now, it's not one of Topson classics, i don't get why they are so stubborn, if it doesn't work stop picking it.
It's like they have some (wrong) ideas on how the patch should be played and they stick with it obsessively, instead of playing their style that is what made them win TI, not caring about meta and just picking all their comfort heroes. Also cause if Razor doesn't work for like 3 games in a row, just try something else you have nothing to loose more than what you already did.
|
Is more of a patch that doesn`t work/fits their playstyle , the game is more snowball-ish ; evan if Ana would come back tomorrow I doubt things would change alot since they are more of a 4+1 team , always were - conceding lanes/early game for mid late sweep with their pos1 shining for the victory.
Also all their illusion heroes and alot of things got changed/nerfed heavy by IceFrog time and time again so yeah, things gonna take some before they adapt to the patch - 6 months of nothing but some random pubs is ALOT for a team.

It obviously did work In a lot of scrim games Their TI playstyle also is obsolete now, not so many comebacks happening, it's more about momentum than space
I'd save my judgements for like March time Especially minors like this should be used to see what does and doesnt work for them

I felt that they play around topsson more than their new carry. Maybe their carry hasn't blended in well with the team yet.

What a team, great mental game during TI That is why they won, their biggest strength, game after game
Now the patch is less about that, less about resilience more about momentum
They are still a short term support +drafter (fly was drafting before) Newcomer topson Noname carry And a 4 pos roamer beast who's forced to 2-1-2 And a coach
And their meta got nerfed directly Wouldn't be surprised if we don't see them being in top3 in a major until a big patch comes and they settle on a carry

ILTW is again the carry they use in next tournament. Hope it goes better than the minor and he adjusted his hero pool to better suit them and we dont see him on Gyro again.
What does ILTW stand for? I love to whine or something like that.

Well here it again. The strongest and best champion of the International for all the time is again failed to qualify for major.

:-( still love and support the flower!

OG really is not a thing anymore huh? Looks like Ana was even more important for the team then i thought. This new guy is ok, but just not good enough for the highest level of dota. Curious who they will try out next, i really dont think he will stay for long anymore.

Ana was always a mediocre player.
It was that at the International there was a broken meta with returns to the game after 15 k gold lose (that is why Seb played Magnus / Enigme all time) and the inadequate Spectr, which Og picked up at the first peak.
In addition no one prepared for them because 1.5 seasons after Kiev Og were tier 2 team. And they very successfully fell on Eg which 2/3 of the players like Fly/S-4 and Crit was Og players. Plus Lgd played much weaker vs Og than against Liquid, Eg, Vp.
Og was super-lucky, that's all.

Instead of hating just don't come to this thread, you can say whatever but OG won a TI and in my opinion the hardest to win yet, broken meta or not they won it and it was deserved.
Also, stop posting huge pictures without spoilers please, it litters the thread.
edit: saw that you already spoiled, thanks.

Do not joke so hard, otherwise I die laughing, eh?
Сhampions are Liquids, Wings, Eg, Navi and Og is just a random team which is very lucky.
Those teams even showed results after winning the International (Last season Liquid in 11 of 13 tournaments occupied the top 2 / top 3 and won the largest tournament in season. They ranked top 4 in International being 4-x millionaires each).
Your Og cannot even selected for major or they occupy the 8th place in the minor, lol. The champion we all deserve ahahahaha (Lgd real champions, not these green team random)
Sad but truth. Bye!
