I was okay with EG having Alliance in EU and EG in NA, different regions I suppose (same with NaVi). VP having polar wasn't a big deal either as I don't expect them to be a T1 team ever. But TT, Secret, Alliance and EG just seems like it's taking advantage of the money that's going into Dota right now. I hope that Secret announces their sponsor soon regardless | ||

All the sponsorships in esports havent changed much in two years and they wont for the next couple of years. If EG acts like a teamhub from now on they could have alot better survivability then when they just had 1 team. | ||

Having 4 top teams from the same organisation/owner will be bullshit for the scene. Endes "did TEAM A throw on purpose" every game etc. | ||

It reminds me a lot of that game where Liquid'Bulba.HyperX owned EG.PPD.HyperX. Stay tuned for next game where we will see a mid clash of the titans between EG.Arteezy.HyperX and TeamTinker.SingSing.HyperX | ||

EG x Alliance was one of the last games played, and people were saying EG would throw so alliance had a chance to qualify to the main event. | ||

With how random team performances are, selling teams based on 1 or 2 results seems crazy, but I understand. I think it's still asinine to suggest people would be throwing games intentionally, just like when teammates fight in SC2, but it's hard to kill the argument. | ||

If team ownership isn't secret, in most of these cases you can mitigate the issue by scheduling those matches first rather than what TI did (although they probably had maximizing viewers in mind). When it gets to bracket stages, there is only so much they can do to help each other so it doesn't matter any more. You still have the issue of them trying to avoid each other in early knockout rounds by potentially throwing a late round robin game, but there have always been situations where people are trying to dodge a particular opponent.
