Didn't see a thread for them yet, and I suppose there's not a lot of news about them at the moment since they got in to TI4, but either way they deserve their own thread!!!! I loved watching most of these guys last year at TI3 while on their various teams at that time, and I'm really looking forward to seeing where they go from here - I certainly hope that no matter what they stay together after TI4!!!

Huh. Looks from that reddit thread that there's a few different possibilities.

Either way, we should be getting an answer soon, per this tweet from Brax from this past Friday:

My guess is probably CLG, Curse, or tsm. idk about dignitas since i think korok and crew probably had a bad blood between the management.

If something like that is being discussed on twitter, either eg is taking announcements of a announcement to a whole new level, or its not happening. And this one isn't happening, eg already has two better dota teams.

I would like to see CLG pick them up, but if somehow, TSM decided to get into the Dota2 scene, this would be the team to pick up!

Brorok is just 2stronk.

Apparently, NAR is now sponsored by Na'Vi, and will join them as Na'Vi.NA.

EG was the other big player in sponsoring them, and NAR refused, favoring Na'Vi's salary income.

Source is here.

Just sent a pm to a mod requesting a name change for the thread. However, I do have an important question:

What is this team's official name? Na'Vi.US or Na'Vi.NA?

If you look at the official press release on the Na'Vi website, (http://read.navi-gaming.com/en/team_news/NaVi_expands_to_North_America) both names are actually used. So which one is the correct one?

It's probably Na`Vi.US. Personally I'd prefer Na`Vi.NA, but even 1437 is tagged up with Na`Vi.US on his twitter...

These guys are actually extremely close to being top tier. In all the games they lost they just overextended after gaining a lead. So if they can reign in the korok killer instinct it should go smoother. Very similar to liquid TI3.

Nar'vi look better than I expected, they had close games with some of the best teams ATM. They probably could benefit greatly from a better practice environment, i.e. a boot camp in Europe, but I don't know if it's too late to arrange it before TI4 or if there were any such plans to begin with.

1437 blog. a snippet:

At the time DreamLeague was beginning and for about 4 days most of the TI teams were playing in it and it was going to be hard for us to train with any of them for about 4-6 days since they would take a break after it as well. Luckily we were still able to play with Empire, Power Rangers, Sigma, Liquid and a few other teams. I feel the same issue will reoccur when ESL LAN finals begin but I don’t think we will have a big issue finding some training partners and maybe we might even be able to train with VG or IG since they will be attending ESL. After the summit we knew what we had to work on to improve as a team but it wasn’t going to be an easy task at all. Our first few scrims were not satisfactory but there was no way we were just going to go in there and get it right on our first shot. I think it’s quite important that we just keep training hard and as many times we fall as a team or a single player we have to bring each other back up as one.

So does anybody know why Na'Vi.US is not playing under that tag in their first game?

I know we won't get to see them anymore now (group stages done). But it is really awesome to see another strong team in NA, and I hope that they can reach for the stars : ) Looking forward to more of their matches after TI4

I think these guys are strong, but need ripening. If they can stick together, I think they'll be another strong pillar of NA dota.

1437 seemed lacking this TI. Those games when he was enigma or skywrath jeez talk about PGG blackholes and being caught out of position.

I haven't been able to follow DOTA much this summer, so now coming back to it I see that Na'Vi.US is one of the few (if only?) teams to not make any roster changes (at least not yet). Has there been any official announcement and/or does anyone know if they for sure AREN'T making any roster changes? If not, should we be expecting roster news any time soon?

EDIT: After going through Na'Vi.US's official facebook page, I came across this. May be old news for some if not most, but it at least answers my above questions:

Found the tweet in question:

I for one am EXTREMELY happy to hear this - they JUST got going and it only makes sense to give themselves more time to meld together and grow as a team. I'm VERY EXCITED to see what they'll do!!!

Guys I've been wanting to ask the community this somewhere but didn't feel like it warranted a thread: why are the attitudes of NA players, on average, more negative? Is that just my perception? It seems like if you look at the top players the best you'll get attitude-wise is someone who can be described as calm. The rest tend to be sourpuss or flamers etc, even if some of them are sometimes funny/happy/whatever. Compare this with the EU scene where there are many players who seem to actually have fun.

Obviously on NAR'Vi you could point to Sneyking as lead sourpuss but even though his teammates don't tend to act that way, they don't counterbalance it with a personality like Sing, Dendi, N0tail, etc. Just more like Universe. I could name more player and their attitudes but I think you guys know what I'm talking about even if you disagree with my overall impression.

[Edit] Would like to note that this is what makes it hard for me, as an American, to root for NA teams. I just don't like the players.

By the way, I'm curious - is there anywhere where I can buy the Na'Vi.US jersey? I checked the official Na'Vi site but only the main team's jersey is available. Are the planning on releasing the US jersey too? Anyone know if it will be available any time soon?

I emailed esporstore if they were going to have the US jersey in stock, they said they have no idea and are waiting for Na'Vi's word on it as well.

Sadly, unless they explode in skill and popularity, I doubt the jerseys will ever be on sale.

Same. I've known all of them since they were still in hon (cept 1437 of course) and Korok used to be one of my faves to watch back in SK.HoN. Really hope they do well.

Ok I'm confused and frustrated again, though I'm sure it's all because of the unpredictability of unforseen circumstances messing with the original schedule of events. But in this case, I'm not even sure what the truth is, and/or I can't find any explanations as to why this is.

On both Liquidipedia and gosugamers, Na'vi.US is listed to play today against Not Today as part of the Star Ladder league, yet nothing is listed on the calendar for today for either Na'vi.US or the Star Ladder league. I tried looking at the league's thread and saw something about english casters getting kicked out - does that have something to do with the confusion here?

Anyway, if anyone can shed some light on whether or not Na'Vi.US is playing today or not, that would be great. Thanks!!

If its on Liquipedia and Gosugamers, chances are nobody submitted the event to the official calendar so thats why it isn't on the sidebar. It's probably still happening. If you happen to know the time and teams (based off of the gosugamers/liquipedia research) you can submit the event via the submit event button at the bottom of the "Live events" section of the sidebar. We will get it approved and voila it will show up with stream links etc.

Just tuned in to the Dota2CanadaCup ( http://www.liquiddota.com/stream/Dota2CanadaCup )

It should be temporary. We haven't seen or heard anything in this roster shuffle that would indicate Navi.US exchanging members.

Although I'd like to see Sneyking replaced with TC and then have Navi.US picked by Liquid, but those are just the desperate dreams of a desperate TL fan

Appears like they are trying out wayto and mjw as replacements for Brax and 1437. No news of official changes or reasons, guess we will just have to keep posted..

Kind of odd since Brax and 1437 seemed pretty committed post TI. I guess they lost interest in Dota again.

Its actually interesting that they are choosing to replace Brax because it seemed like Korok and Brax were inseparable and wanted to play with each other. Did they have a falling out of some sort?

Also for all the hate that 1437 gets, he still manages to get into TI qualifying teams and performs reasonably well on his teams (although not outstanding). Dude's pretty consistent.

The few Navi.US games I have seen have not had Theeban in them. Is he not apart of the team anymore?

Heh. Here's too all the bashing I got when I said that the squad is going to reshuffle post ti. And to those that did so just because the captain mentioned it, and that they got sponsored by a renowned organisation.

This group of 5 were formed solely at the last minute for ti4, with little intentions to work, grow and improve together as a team for the future.

And while I have full respect to fogged (cuz he tried and was active prior to NAR), I have none for Brax. What a waste of talent when you don't even want to try.

[Edit]
Looks like brax played again. Proves me wrong then.

[Edit 2]
Nope he is missing again. Rofl.

What happend with Brax and 1437. Doesn't seem like anything happend at all between TI4 and now. They mad ESL NY yet it seems there must have been issues. Wish someone from the team would tweet something or even Bulba or ppd would gossip some answer just to let the fans know.

Supposedly Theeban confirmed on his stream that he is teamless. Brax is supposed to be out as well.

Yeah, I'm with you. At this point I'm just curious.

It can't be wayto: he is taking the year off to focus on school more (or at least that is what he has said). Who else is a tier 1/top tier 2 player in NA? Maybe Demon?

Same thing for me. I kind of dislike the fact that they were formed solely for TI4. No doubt they are the best team so they deserved it. But aside from fogged, all the other players were barely active in the scene this season. I dislike their non commitment to the game. Them qualifying shows talent in the team, but the lack of effort feels like a waste of potential.

They weren't formed solely for TI4, at least that's not the intention. Brax said it is supposed to be a long term team.

There's no such thing as long term unless you have success in the team.

liquids proving that false dude

Well liquid had changes after ti3. I don't buy the story that nar would stay together if they do not perform in ti4. They probably don't have the intention to grind results out.

Their captain just had an interview saying they were going to accept a sponsor and possibly boot camp for TI4. If you're going to blatantly ignore or refuse the direct words of the teams captain I guess you have that right. Ignorance is bliss after all.

Yea boot camp for ti4. I have no problems with that. What about after ti4? If they are going to split because of poor results, then it pretty much means that they were formed solely for TI4.

Sponsorship really mean nothing when players can just change roster so easily despite being attached to an organization.

Aren't Alliance, fnatic and Na'Vi the only teams coming to TI4 with the same roster they had last year? After the International most of the teams who didn't finish top 2 or 3 are going to restructure their rosters anyways, I don't see why NAR has to glue their roster in to be considered a legitimate team when teams like Empire, VP, and EG change their rosters often.

I never said they can't. I'm saying that I dislike how they were formed solely for TI4, especially when 4 out of.5 players were barely in the scene this season. He said that brax said they wanted to stay long term together. I doubted the statement, and you pretty much explained why.

Lot of nested quotes... anyway, they were definitely not just recently formed for TI4 qualies. Brax had been planning this team for months, probably not this exact roster but definitely 1437 and Sneyking.

Feb 7, over 3 months ago.

They didn't really have a full roster at that point though, so Brax started playing a lot more League and Sneyking seemed to want to join Liquid, but once the team got Korok and took Fogged once he was booted from Dog, they decided to recommit and were able to get themselves into ADL season 2 and then jDL.

To look down on any group of individuals for trying hard to get into the biggest e-sport event ever is, in my opinion, a bit pretentious of a remark. The American pro scene is known to be a lot more unstable than most of the EU scene, but that doesn't change the fact that really amazing teams can come together and stay together relatively long.

But "every possible sign in the universe" (freely quoting some other forum member) was pointing at the team being formed for TI5 and the captain even said they are devoted to strive for excellence!

Jokes aside, hopefully they can form some sort of a stable team around the people who are in the team still, and maybe Brax and 1437 could get new players to form another team. Would be nice to have more competition in NA region qualifiers. Though I don't have much faith in any of these players forming a team that could become a real competitor. I listened to the Brax interview where he talked a bit about what is going on, and it didn't seem that any of the players have the necessary leadership to make the players work together and instead everyone starts the blame game when they lose.

He did have a slight sense of being bitter about results, Brax himself was playing the blame game. Maybe he just said all of that out of pure bitterness

Yea I was trying to include Brax in that statement as well. Obviously he couldn't make it work either since it all ended up in arguments and now he seems to be off the team. But I suppose some of the players (Brax included) are pretty young and they haven't had that many seriously competitive teams after all. Perhaps Brax for example can learn from what happened with LGD.int and NaVi.us and be able to take more of a leadership role in the future.

Literally every sign in the entire universe points to them sticking around long term and you still write this. Just signed with Navi, captain says in interview this is long term, they are clearly good enough to exist long term. Pretty obvious it's long term.

As I, and other people, talked about in previous pages, there's plenty of reasons and history to expect that the team will break up after TI. "Good enough to exist long term" is debatable considering that getting into top8 in TI is not going to be easy for them. If you look at last year for example, every single team in the bottom 8 changed their roster. I believe just some months ago one of their players was playing LoL (Brax), one had some real life problems preventing them from playing much (Fogged), and one was "concentrating on school" (Korok). Even if their captain is serious about their "strive for excellence", imo it's pretty understandable that people are skeptical given their player history and the history of teams that don't do extremely well at TI.

That being said, I hope they manage to stay together and do well. They are clearly a team that can at the very least put up good showings in Western tournaments. Would also be good for any NA only events so that EG have more competition than just TL.

I like fogged. I think he deserves some success. He has been quite unlucky with his teams. None of them were really top tier. His EG stint was poor because he had to deal with a supportless and leaderless team (Fear is a horrible captain). Now even with the replacements, I doubt NARVI will be able to do well. Hopefully he gets picked up by some mixed team. Really difficult though since he is NA.

So is Sneyking on the outs with them or just schooling hard? USH is drafting in Summit currently and Ar1se is standing in for Sney

Why can't Ar1se get a team or something? His play on SK at Megafon was the best SK I've ever seen. Get picked up, man!

I'm hoping that ar1se sticks with H4nni and the two of them form a new team together. They are the best unsigned player at the moment in my opinion.

TL Mafia. Love it. Play it. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/index.php?show_part=31 I find Kennigit really attractive. If anyone has a picture of him please feel free to PM it to me.

1437 seemed to indicate that arise might have been a semi-permanent standin on nar'vi but that seems a bit weird iunno. Based on him+aui_2000 watching a nar'vi summit match together on stream.

they are gonna need to rebrand to navi.int or someshit

i'd only be happy if arise joins the team if means sneyking is actually out

a good (and fun) international lineup would be 1437, fogged, brax, arise and hanni

So I guess this team is no more....which sucks, though SNA is turning into my dream team of Liquid + Brax, so I at least still have a team to root for!

Everyone seems to be buddies with these players except me - what/who specifically were the sources of infighting and bad blood on this team that apparently caused the team to fold?

RIP Na'Vi.US...until they pick up SNA.....?!?!?!
