while its easy to counter it its so godamn obvious imo i dunno why the other teams havnt counterbanned/picked accordingly.
I'm confused. Are you implying the Western teams have some killer super secret pocket strat they haven't run (and thus haven't practiced in a competitive environment) and are saving specifically for TI4? Alliance got 2-0'd by iG at ESL, even though TI4's prize pool dwarfs ESL I can't imagine they would willfully lose a tournament of ESL's stature in the hopes that maybe their unknown, untested secret strat will work at TI4.
Not to mention the logical inconsistency of saying the Eastern teams have shown all their playstyles when Alliance won TI3 after already having shown teams in the 6 months leading up to it exactly how they would play.
Barring some sort of monumental upset, I'm gonna predict DK, iG and Nb will finish in the top 4 in no particular order, with EG rounding out the top 4 with an outside chance to place top 2 depending on how they play. I can't see Alliance, Na'Vi or Empire in the top 4 based on their prior results, and I don't subscribe to the belief that just because Na'Vi has played in the previous 3 finals they will somehow magically improve their play from getting 2-0'd by Fnatic in the ro8 of ESL to top 2 at TI4 in the span of ~3 weeks.

Navi got 2-0'd by eg. And Loda said egm was doing the drafts instead of s4 in ESL because they didn't want to show what they are practising.
I think for west only alliance and eg has the chance to be in top 4. And I boldly predict that newbie will end up outside of top 4 unless they only need to face Chinese teams in their path.

LOL I even double checked Liquipedia to make sure I got that right, I misread the bracket since Fnatic was right above EG
My point still stands, except now I can say that Alliance "willfully los[t] a tournament of ESL's stature in the hopes that maybe their unknown, untested secret strat will work at TI4".

DK preview by datdota: http://www.datdota.com/blog/?p=754
Commentary
After seeing the roster come together in September we all expected DK to be good. What surprised me was how good DK was from the very start. The team won its first 18 games in the premier Chinese tournament, the WPC ACE. Since that moment DK has been the best team–or one of the best–teams in Dota. Its remarkable that a team can remain on top for that period of time. In 23 tournaments since TI3, DK has only 2 tournament finishes outside of the top four. DK has finished first or second 16 times.
DK is one of the most talented teams and has played the best Dota in the world this past 11 months. Expectations are high for DK going into TI4. The team was put together and has competed all year like a team whose goal it is to win The International. The team went over six months before a player missed an official match and the team was forced to use a stand in. While the team is evenly matched with iG and Newbee and has lost a recent offline finals to EG (and given the depth of the field at TI4 this next statement may appear to be a bit ludicrous), I believe that anything less than a first place finish will be a disappointment for DK.

All these points are so very true, they truly are the only team who can definetly take #1 without hesitation.
