That entire series was close. If they didn't have that stupid miscommunication Game 1 where Bone bat dragged the lassoed BB(?) out of Sky ult and Invoker meteor combo, they had a very good chance of winning that game, and thus the entire series

I'd say their chances are good but hard to judge. C9 themselves are unpredictable, and OG, IG and LFY are amongst the teams it's hardest to determine likely form. Then there's VP in groups - who knows which team will show up? And DC - NA regional matches are always a little different due to familiarity. The other two they should 2-0, but anything can happen.

I'm confident they won't get last place but that's about it. Wouldn't be shocked if they got first, wouldn't be too surprised if they got 7th.

VP and Newbee have been tough matchups for NP in the past. Though it's a bit hard to say because they've only played once with the new lineups, but anyway NP has taken more games from EG for example than they have from VP and Newbee from what I recall.

With current knowledge upper bracket spot is a bit tough I guess but there's been over a month since we've last seen a lot of these teams in competition so it's hard to evaluate how they've progressed. We've also never really seen c9 vs LGDFY matchup, and they've also played very little against OG in officials.

The schedule is pretty tough early on for c9 though, their first 4 series are against OG, Newbee, VP and LGDFY. So they basically play the strongest teams right from the start.

I wouldn't count on their recent results too much, they went to Manila -> Zotac -> Summit in the period of a week or so with a patch in between manila and summit, there wasn't a lot of time to practice or scrim, and at Manila they're the wildcard that surprised people with their BB/IO/Tree/Ench.

I think 4 1-1 looks about right

Hey, Newbee and OG are good teams. And lots of good teams have bad first days, what's important is that they pick themselves up and run the group stage.

DC, they should be able to beat, Execration too, Hellraisers hell yeah, LFY's 4-0 is padded by the fact they 2-0 the worst teams in the group, IG is slumping but at least 1-1, and VP is the big boss, but 1-1 is the hope. that would leave them 8-6 which if the group is going to be a blood bath, might be enough to get to the upper bracket, they shouldn't be eliminated for sure.

Will it be hard picking themselves back up after a bad first day, yes, but nothing comes easy for a worthwhile anime protagonist.

Should is iffy though. Going off their Zotac/Manila performance they should've been able to tie 1-1 to OG/Newbee, but it seems like their entire command chain breaks down after laning.

Against OG they looked ok. Game one they got outdrafted and played ok but not good enough. Game two the draft was fine (though I still don't know about Jugg again), and they played mostly fine, but got a little outplayed. Besides the obvious lack of detection, Fata has not looked at his best.

Against NB they had two unwinnable drafts and played like it.

Bad start but I'm not too worried. Upper bracket is possible, and I can't see them getting eliminated.
