Even if people love to hate on single players of C9 there are not a lot of players who can improve the squad, who aren't on EG, Secret or CIS teams. With this said I can actually totally see them going with 0-1 changes but getting a "real" coach. If we will really see big changes to the team, in form of 3-4 players changing, depends on the next after-TI, pre-major shuffle and which players will be available. moonmeander.

Its just such a badly put together team, eternalenvy is an incredibly successful captain and leader compared to most but this is just proof that players shouldnt decide on rosters and it should be left to a coach. I think roster changes are necessary here to be honest, one of the supports needs to go to be replaced with a more intelligent player less reliant on the early game like EGM perhaps. And then one of Fata or Bone7 needs to go to be replaced with someone who will just play solid and not die during lane. The old C9 showed that EE can shotcall really well and smartly and they dont need to rely on skill to win.

They are all too aggressive playmaking emotional players. It shows in their playstyle when rely on, and can make amazing outplays in the first 30 mins to close out games and against lesser teams they usually can just beat up on them like they have all year (VP, Na'vi, and even they never lost to empire). Then they just throw because they lack calmness, a direction and discipline. Do you think that a good coach alone could fix things in this team?

First of all there are no real coaches that arent chinese so they cant ever do that. They need to make roster changes in an intelligent way and EE needs to gain back control over the team. The old C9 with bone7, sing, aui, and pie its clear that EE is the strongest personality on that team and because of that their shotcalling and play used to be really disciplined and smart. Now its so muddled with notail, misery and fata who seem to be more involved. Teams which share shotcalling will never be the best in the world. All TI winners had 1 person in charge, Artstyle, Faith, S4, Xiao8. Thats why I want EGM who at his best (assuming he can regain that) can just be the same as what AUI was to c9 and hopefully he will just shutup and listen and as a previous TI winner you can count on him not to choke. Then idk i'd like a replacement for Bone7 or Fata in the vein of someone like Yao, Super, Mushi, ohaiyo but there's no one in the west who plays like that really other than bulldog who just isnt good enough right now and universe who wont be leaving EG. Do what fnatic's LoL team did and replace everyone who was muddling the shotcalling with people who will just shutup and listen to the captain (Yellowstar) and then rely more on the shotcalling of EE which at times can be world class. Maybe even get some new talent from solo queue.

FATA was incredibly underwhelming for TI5 and the months leading up to it. Honestly him and bone7 were the weak links for this tournament. He carried C9 for the most part late last year but I think there's a reason he's never been on a true top tier team.

lol, he is one of the best mids in the world, he should be playing in the TI finals. But instead he is with C9. Lol, have you seen him on the meta mids? (Lina, SF, Lesh,Storm) His impact is limited to farming early game and feeding mid game. He doesn't have half the impact that Suma1l, G, Maybe etc. have. He is like the opposite of Sing (who excelled at farm oriented mids). Fata's BM, puck, Zeus and DK are world class, but unfortunately, all of these are very uni-dimensional heroes (exclusive teamfight/ pushing). Even during the past 6.83 meta, his sniper and troll were extremely underwhelming, and envy was pretty much forced to play them every game.

I think the Euro meta as a whole has been demolished against the 5 man fighting meta of the Chinese. Both Secret and C9 suffered from the inability to adapt to the meta mid-tournament. That's Team Empires thing though... #1 for me is just choking. VP are not as good as secret, yet puppey, S4 and kuro were no where to be seen that series.

I don't think its choking, other teams brought a better attitude and teamspirit, whereas C9 had internal issues, and Secret admittedly weren't even scrimming, since they felt scrims are useless.
