It's not their drafts it's more how they've been playing, just general 5 man strats and a lot of waiting around for cooldowns instead of spreading out the map and trying to create mismatches. But like I said it may be more to do with how dota is being played at the moment though. I just think c9 are at their best and most entertaining when they aren't running these 5 man strats.

It seems true that c9 has adapted a bit to the patch after recruiting Fata, as they are now prioritizing Razor and DP highly which they really didn't play before. Impossible to say whether it's just them adjusting generally or if for some reason they had problems playing with those heroes and the styles they generally lead to with Sing. But their play still has some old c9 characteristics like some unorthodox heroes, distributing farm a bit differently early on compared to other teams, or laning a bit differently (like they've run some sort of dual lanes quite a bit in the offlane at WEC).

I think it's mainly just due to the patch and how it impacts the draft. If you don't play heroes that other teams prioritize really highly at all, it puts you in a pretty bad position in the draft in my opinion. Hence it's better at times to pick those heroes yourself, especially if it catches the opponent offguard if you haven't played them before. And now those heroes happen to be DP and Razor, which have strengths that generally lead to certain styles of play, like more grouping up and pushing towers at a certain timing in the game.

Great play seen today at the NVIDIA 24 tournament. Beating out EG and Team Tinker 3-1 each is something few teams could accomplish. Even having their own Drow+Visage strat used against them was not enough.

Am I blind fanboy, or is Fata C9's best and most stable player? To me it seems that unlike the other 4 players on the team, his skill floor is really high meaning that he never seems to have horrendous games, while his ceiling is as high as the rest of the team, if not higher.

I think the Puck game yesterday(?) shows he can be just as clowny as the rest of them. It's hard to tell well since we Aui and Envy have Canada to deal with (See todays blackholes).
