The only thing that irritates me about other people eating meat is the smell, it can just get sicknasty, especially if they're roasting it at the table.

That was actually one of the coolest things about my adventures as a vegetarian - a whole bunch of places have "secret" vegetarian options that aren't directly on the menu, or are really willing to accommodate your requests. I only had it once in two years where I was dining out and wasn't able to get anything respectable and veggie.
I also got to introduce a bunch of people to vegetarian indian food :D

My brother, when his friends had a kid, immediately went out and got a snare drum and a set of cymbals for him. I approve.

my parents are vegetarians for moral reasons. personally, while i think its a noble cause, i can't wrap my head around not eating meat, its so delicious.
i went through a phase where i felt bad for animals and was a vegetarian when i was in high school..but that ended quickly. cheeseburgers are too tempting.

I don't think I could ever blame someone for being a vegetarian. Between the way animals that are used as food are treated and how unhealthy a lot of it all is I would probably consider it if the opportunity presented itself. However as it is right now I don't have a good enough reason to, and I really feel that without the nutrients from meat I would be a lot worse off than I am.
I have a question for the vegetarians in here though. Do you still eat fish/shellfish, or is that off the menu as well for you?

I couldn't do that personally. I couldn't survive Christmas Day without mini sausages and bacon. Them, stuffing and potatoes with gravy over it all in the evening is by far my favourite part of the day.

Doesn't have to be any of those either actually, there's tons of potential reasons. Case in point: I work with a guy who used to eat meat but is now vegetarian on environmental grounds. He's pretty fine with the actual act of eating meat; but since it takes much more land to raise animals for us to eat than it does to just eat crops he's decided not to eat it anymore to do his part towards reducing the pressure on farmland.
Its an interesting standpoint. I could get fully behind it if not for the fact I like meat too much.

Nice, so Merlini just played with a bot. He picked Wk and had the same pattern for 40min aka cycled through the jungle and the easy lane

In my case it was combating a culture of not giving a shit what we eat. I'd go for fast food or whatever was easy all the time, and in -most- cases the easiest meals have some meat component. I also like animals a lot, so my argument boiled down to this:
I'm choosing to be vegetarian, not because I believe eating any meat is inherently wrong/evil, but because I recognize that the volumes in which we consume meat products is not healthy or economical. An ideal world would have people considering more carefully what they could eat, and eating what was both delicious and efficiently sustainable. Though a lot of animals are delicious, most of the time we eat it "because it is there" moreso than because it is tasty. Choosing to be vegetarian gives me incentive to take a closer look at that.
I've since reverted back to an unrestricted diet, but it was a good ~2 year experiment. You pick up on a LOT of vegetarian meals that are fucking delicious, like shepherd's pie with a mushroom-based gravy, or tofu subs (Though tofu is gross if not prepared right ) or a buncha ethiopian foods.

Technically pescetarians aren't vegetarians but most people have a hard enough time understanding what vegetarian means*, so I'm not gonna press the issue. Plus it's not like there's a hierarchy where one is better than the other.
*Interactions with people who know full well I was vegetarian:
me - "Hey, there's bacon in this salad!" them - "...What, you don't eat bacon either? Sorry!"
them - "So what about milk? Are you allowed to drink milk?" me - "I'm allowed to do whatever I want, there's no vegetarians committee that is going to kick me out of the club. Besides, milk isn't meat, so no it wouldn't break vegetarian guidelines."
them - "Where do you get your protein?" me - "I want to fucking stab you, but first I'm going to go eat a spoonful of peanut butter, or drink a glass of soy milk or eat some fucking beans or cheese or any one of the massive number of non-meat protein sources. Seriously, this question is something I run in to ALL THE TIME and it isn't from people who know what the fuck they're talking about, it's from people who heard somewhere that you ONLY get protein from meat and without meat you'll wither into a skeleton and have no muscle mass whatsoever. Yes, if you're a bodybuilder and need to eat 120+ grams of protein a day, skipping out on meat as a source of protein is going to make it pretty hard to balance your diet, but it's really, really easy to be vegetarian and get enough protein."
And then I stab them.
