They've said in interviews that they want to make the game have content you can enjoy indefinitely. I hope the nephalem trials(hopefully endless dungeons) do just that.
And yes, current D3 endgame is pretty boring. AH has a lot to do with it, itemization, lack of character customization.
Ladder would make the game 1000x times better. having a self found mode would be even better, AH just kills a lot of what made D2 special which was the item hunt.

So the Crusader is basically the Paladin revamped? One thing is for sure, he looks totally badass.
Going to watch the gameplay videos, and such (if they have them) on the website. Not really interested in the trailer, since I have trained myself to ignore all story altogether. But if they make significant ups in combat, add in this badass new paladin hybrid, and up the experience/weapons with new stat mods, and MORE, I will gladly shed 40 to play. Had a lot of fun with D3.
Is there going to be another class or are they saving that "for another expansion?"
Also, guys, I can predict the story already. Evil angel gets the soul-stone, and before the hero can stop him manages to break it open, and you have to fight all the lords of hell again.
Never been a better time for a trollface.

Or pistols that shot shotgun blasts a mile..
But what made the crazy guns work was that you couldn't just pop in to an online store in Sanctuary and search for people selling Jakobs-base sniper rifles with vladof barrels that had at least a magazine size of 5 and shot lightning bullets... so when you got a drop of an E-tech weapon that shot bouncy bullets or an SMG that shot bullets in a spiral or a fucking railgun, it wasn't a game of looking at the stats of the gun and going "Oh okay this is a decent roll, I can probably sell this for a decent price on the AH" or "Well this is a shit unique, vendoring this one!" It was "Oh I got a cool gun that shoots bullets in a spiral check this out guys! pewpewpewpewpewpew!"
The auction house hurts the crap out of D3, but it isn't going anywhere. If I do get this expansion or any other ones, I'll be playing with buddies and without the Auction House, so the drops we get are actually relevant to our own playthroughs ^^

I didn't pay for interviews, I paid for the product inside the box and so did you. actually, if they promised you something in interviews, they cant just say "we didnt say it on the box."

the main issue i had with d3 was bots ruining the economy. then you combine that problem with the AH/RMAH and it's much worse..and obviously this expansion isn't going to do anything to fix this problem

I would have to look at the wording, but I believe they said they would "try to patch it in later." Of course, people asked about it so often, there is like 100 different wordings of their response.

Also, at least on the PC, they hacked the weapons (from what I remember). So technically it is worse than D3. It exists, but you dont have to use it.

I don't get how an expansion from ~13 years ago can introduce 2 new classes and an expansion now, priced the same way as the aforementioned one, can get away with just one. And have cut features from the initial release as its calling cards (sup, Mystic!). And have people defend these things because there will be another expansion later on, priced at the same 'friendly' price as this one.
Well done, PR and marketing departments!
The Loot 2.0 calling card, which really should've been Loot 1.0 or at the most Loot 1.5 or thereabout is at least forgivable in that everyone makes mistakes, at least they're trying to fix them sort of way. It's still pretty obnoxious that they're trying to market the game based on how much of a failure the initial release was.

Is this really being promised for the expansion? And is it similar to the attribute/ stat point allocations that existed in Diablo 2? Or is it some other way to make your character unique? I just assume so. If you remember there used to be traits/perks tied to the current system that greatly influenced how you built your character. If they bring back stats+something like those old traits it could do wonders for the game. They've talked a lot about the lack of character customization in recent interviews etc, so I guess they're addressing that issue but the thing is supposedly Paragon 2.0 system is account-wide. How the hell is it supposed to influence individual characters with that in mind?
What I've gathered from devs/pr guys talking customization was that they were basically referring to transmogrification and not to my baba being different than your baba.
Being that I quit WoW before transmog ever existed I too was confused/hopeful at first. Welp!
I know that my ~70ish paragon points are all going into Magic Find first thing I do after login. If I buy this thing, which I'm not sure about anymore. Didn't buy sc2 expansion for a reason after all. :p

Also as a general comment, hopefully they're adding more than just one class, if they're only adding one act. It's so little content it's practically a DLC. But I guess I should hold judgment until we know more.

Sorry guys I might have missed it. But does any one have the full VOD of this reveal?
Would love to get it to the OP.

I don't get what customization they're really going to offer with Paragon 'stats' since itemization is so fucking wonked in this game.
I'll have to read more later.

Didn't read all the details on this...but...
Essentially Blizzard is taking everything promised in upcoming patches (and missing features from initial D3 launch) and trying to sell it back to you?

Don't use the AH. Self found mode done. D3 now 1000x better.

"new monsters", "new level cap", "1 new class". Am I supposed to be excited about this? How about some info on things that would actually make the game better.

There was some talk about how you could check a "self-found" mode kinda like hardcore by the devs. I hope they go into that direction, would be awesome to see a seperate realm from normal D3 where AH wouldn't exist :2
