I won't buy it, bad game is bad and no amount of expansions will be able to fix it.

So blizzard is delivering things they promised for the vanilla. ( mystic / endless dungeons/ true character customization...)

nice i guess, cinematics was sick but i hope they can actually fix the game

making some kind of a ladder would go a long way as well. Blizzard's expansions have always improved their vanilla counterpart immensely in the past(maybe not WoW, arguably), we'll have to see what happens with Diablo.

Basically increased level cap, new Crusader (Paladin) class, and Act V.

I'm sure they'll be more news at Blizzcon since that is the next perfect event to announce new features. I hope they announce another new character too, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're saving it for the second expansion...

I just assume so.

If you remember there used to be traits/perks tied to the current system that greatly influenced how you built your character. If they bring back stats+something like those old traits it could do wonders for the game.

They've talked a lot about the lack of character customization in recent interviews etc, so I guess they're addressing that issue but the thing is supposedly Paragon 2.0 system is account-wide. How the hell is it supposed to influence individual characters with that in mind?

So paragon levels will now add stat points allocation. So now they've admitted that they're reasons for bashing stats points was a strawman argument, as I had argued. Jay Wilson talked about how much stats sucked in D2, and why they won't be in D3. But that's only because stats were done badly in D2, and there's no reason why a good stat system can't be added to D3. Finally they admit their bad mistake.

Reposting since I think a lot missed it:
New Feature - Loot Runs

15-20 minute completely random dungeons!
Random weather!
Random enemies!

Multitiered (severa levels deep)!

The Mystic

Can Transmogrify items, so you don't have to sacrifice looks for power.
Item Enchanting - allows to reroll one of the affixes on a rare/legendary item.

The new puzzle ring is hilarious.

Treasure goblin that follows you and picks up junk and then when he gets a certain number of items he drops a rare/legendary.

Can't deny that there's some good stuff in this expansion, but adding cool stuff won't do for me.

I tried to play again a few months ago, got myself some 25 levels of paragon over the course of 2 weeks or so. It was cool while it lasted, but I wish the game had something to keep me playing. I think the lack of a clear endgame and the lack of general goals kills it for me. The fact that the gear I sold for $1000 when I quit is not complete garbage that's not even worth $5 makes it almost scary to put any effort in the game because I have no way to know when my shit will fall into obsolescence.

I think that the game's philosophy is fundamentally out of touch with what made people keep playing D2. That said, perhaps Blizzard doesn't need people to keep playing. Perhaps people having a good run @ normal and then quitting is sufficient. They've got the money anyway. The expansion will sell because people like myself are curious and will get it regardless of previous disappointments.
