Two-handed melee weapons have made more viable:

-Two-handed melee weapons can now roll their own affixes for core stats as well as higher damage values (as compared to one-handed melee weapons)

-Core stat values have been increased by approximately 70%

Note: This does not affect two-handed ranged weapons

-Additional affix changes for two-handed melee weapons include:

+ Crit Damage, Life on Hit, Life After Each Kill, and Life Steal values can now roll up to 200%

Note: This does not affect two-handed ranged weapons

Note: These changes will only impact items created or dropped after patch 1.0.4


Can someone explain what this change means? I don't understand what they mean by 'roll their own affixes for core stats', and the rest sort of plays off that so overall I don't really know what this means lol.

Yeah, Also saw Athenes video about it. If his math is correct, you have to grind 10 hous a day, for 2 years, to become lvl 100 paragon. Sooo. MF gear is still good, and prob alot easier/better then actually grinding to lvl 100.

I am wondering whether: item buffs +skill buffs +Inferno nerf will help us slay monsters substantially faster thus gaining exp at a quicker rate?

Look at the Top1000 in Elite-Pack Kills... they are ALL BOTS! Blizzard doesn't care...


Well doesn't that include all elite packs from even normal to hell? I have a hard time believing bots can kill inferno packs, maybe act1 but I don't know.

Yes, maybe. But nobody said anything about inferno.

Since im not a botter I can only specualte that farming for gold in hell, is not only easier, but also alot cheaper in buying gear to the bots. There are prob some bots that can clear act 1 inferno no prob. Wouldnt be surpriced, I mean, gear for clearing act 1 inferno is in abundance and very cheap.

I just made the patch but when i go to actually log in and play it says that there is a new patch and i need to restart and apply it.
Seems some bug to me...btw this is on EU anyone else having this issue?

I think it means higher number values not seen on 1 handers, for example, an affix for 200% crit damage. The second part, I believe, is referencing the +min/max and %damage modifiers have been increased for 2 handers.

two handers have their own class of +stats rolls that are higher value than say classes for 1 handers, offhands etc.

Affixes in D3 are attributes with ranges to certain stats. E.g. there's a Level 10 Vitality affix that has a vitality range of +100-200, Level 9 Vitality affix with range of +90-190, etc. There are also mixed affixes Like HealthVit where the Level 10 one would only go +50-150 for both or something like that.

When an item rolls an affix, it first rolls the level and then the specific stat bonus out of the given range. The actual values in my examples are crap, I think, since I can't remember.

Now for two-handers they added new ones, like where previously you had max 200 vit or someting on a weapon, now two-handers get max. +300 and similar things.

- Trail of Cinders rune for Vault? 1500% dmg for 5 seconds.
- Monsters don't heal-to-full. Nuke and zone out? (Dunno if the no-heal-to-full applies to zoning out).
- Nerfing to elites' damage and health.

Hello TL fellow, I have another question I would like to ask.

when "damage X for 5 second" changed to "Damage Y over 5 secnond". Will this mean the attack speed will be irrelevant?
