The leveling in D2 served multiple purposes. The only purpose of "paragon" is to replace MF you already have on gear with something else, and that's it. It doesn't add anything to the gameplay and it still doesn't provide the player with any interesting choices, in fact it removes one of the only choices that was still in the game of deciding how many stats to sacrifice in favor of more MF / GF. Maybe you don't see it, maybe you wont ever see it, but my odds are on you getting halfway through (at best) before you realize that it's just the same boring system with some not very well thought out "incentive" tacked on to keep people around.

The people who were already above this arbitrary cap on MF are essentially just getting nerfed , and for what logical purpose?

In Hungry Hungry Hippos there are no such constraints—one can constantly attempt to collect marbles with one’s hippo, limited only by one’s hippo-levering capabilities.

Tried out these changes. They would be nice but I have a few problems:

-Im broke as shit and can't afford new gear.
-None of the gear that drops is useable for me / is decent to sell.
-Progress comes to a grinding halt when I hit champion / rare packs with impossible affixes.

This is the reason why I don't play Diablo 3. Grinding the same Act I Halls of Agony over and over with no progression is just fucking boring.

The new system won't make the game that much better. I will probably star playing again a little bit. Maybe 30min/day to slow and steady increase my paragon level - but its just way too boring to play it "full time"

You just suck, that's your problem, not much with the game atm really. If you can't farm act 3, go play public game, it's super easy now.

I played again for a couple hours. Got to Paragon level 3. Didn't seem any more fun...Legendary drop rates are still bad, so I'm essentially levelling up for the sake of levelling, and MFing for boring Rares.
Average means I'm better than half of you.

You need to go back and act or 2. If progress is slowed too much by champions you will earn more money by going back an act and breezing thru it. The max item quality won't be as high but really well rolled items can still be replacements for your gear and you can just vendor all the drops for cash.

You also get stats per level just like you did in d2..

I dont know, i never liked d2 and I didnt like it even after all these years of patching. D3 was fun for some time. And it will be fun again with every patch.
People just had weird and too high expectations.

Other then adding pvp what else could u want? You either have absurdly high expect ions or are a moron. You get 3 percent gold find and magic find per Pargon so that when u hit a high level of Pargon u can use different builds and Gear set ups with godly gear and still be farming like u had a ton of mc gear on. And honestly very few people have more then 300 mf and farm act 3 ez pz without swapping.

I'm really liking the changes they made to the effects on the monsters, it lets you know a lot more clearly where the impact is going to be, especially with stuff that explodes. Also for the brief period I played, it seems like the loot quality is kinda better, and the rolls are tighter, i.e the items actually feel like they might be usable by someone, as opposed to being total garbage.

what? They are both stat point increases... There really wasn't any difficulty ramp in D2...

Your Character gets stronger in D3 by gaining paragon levels. Reading the patchnotes can reduce half of these so called "complaints" tbh.

Played enough to make it to plvl 5. Makes a slight difference. Right now it's worth about 2/3 of an mf item, not a lot, but it helps.
