+ Show Spoiler + ![]() To be more specific, here are a few questions I have: 1) Which areas should I be looking to upgrade first? 2) How much money should I be looking to spend on an upgrade? (i.e. should I just continue farming A1 until I can buy something really nice, or is it better to buy some cheaper items that would allow me to progress a little further and farm something other than Warden/Butcher) Cheers ![]()

You won't need new gear to beat Belial if you tailor your skills/passives to the fight. I learned a lot watching PsyStarcraft's Belial video where he survives phase 3 by using Ignore Pain during the fist attacks and Pound of Flesh to heal up during the easy parts. Taking Battle Rage for more dps so the fight is shorter also helps. You can try using Leap to get away from the fist attacks but I found that to be more difficult. Movespeed on boots can help with the random bomb attacks if those are an issue. Since vit is expensive you've picked up %life where you can and you've built up all resist without sacrificing strength. Look for new legs with vit (high vit is easier to find on legs and chest than other slots, not to mention sockets), a shield with +block % that looks something like this: + Show Spoiler + ![]() Purchasing new items now means gearing up for Act III and IV. Purchases are going to get much more expensive, roughly 2 million each for the aforementioned shoulders/belt/shield and 4 million+ for legs/chest. Helms/gloves/bracers/boots typically don't have that many stat points anyway, even if you spend a lot of money. There's no clear cut answer as to what your next farm target should be after Warden/Butcher. Maghda, Act II Goblins, and Iskatu are some options, as is leveling a demon hunter and doing runs like this:

Phase 1 (snakes), phase 2 (belial + snakes), or phase 3 (belial on crumbling platform)? In phase 3 the only attacks that are really damaging are: - The two-handed attack (very easily avoidable, he will first hit with one arm, then hit with the other arm, and finally hit with both, and all three are marked with green circles on the ground. So just move away in time to avoid the final blow. I don't really get the hitbox of this attack so usually I move really far away). - The ground explosions (also avoidable, just walk out of the green circles and you should be fine. If you get trapped, use jump or ignore pain). So just avoid these two and damage him / replenish your life during the other phases. You can use leap + iron impact on cooldown to get less damage from the attacks that you aren't avoiding. Ignore pain + ignorance is bliss is really good to help you regen, if you didn't need it to avoid the ground explosions (most of the time you shouldn't), then use it immediately afterwards to heal off him. It should be up again for the next explosions phase, and if for some reason it's not and you get trapped, use leap. Pound of flesh like said above sounds like a good idea. I didn't try it but I had higher life on hit so I didn't really need it. Leap + iron impact Ignore pain + ignorance is bliss Battle rage + 30% War cry + impunity Frenzy + sidearm Revenge + provocation (useless in phase 3 but useful in phases 1 & 2) Both armor passives + pound of flesh. Fooled around with a lot of different setups including 2h with wotb but this one as sword+board was by far the easiest.

I've got a question. Has anyone solo'd inferno Izuel? I can get my physical resist w/ buffs up to 1400 (=82% mitigation) and I still can't tank him. I have 55k hp w/ that and over 11k dps.... but still..... he just wrecks me (like most of act 3 and 4) I'm curious whats its going to take to handle him.

It could be gear (Life on Hit/Armor), or sub-optimal skill choices. Care to post your build+stats?

What is the general consensus for best amulet on a barb, I'm torn between blackthorns/ouro or some yellow with str/vit/allresist/lof. Also is there any specific ring I should look into? I have about 80mil to spend to upgrade my last few parts but want to wait for 1.03 to see if I should tank up more or go into DPS, something tells me that a 2her will be better than a 1h+shield. ![]()

http://d3db.com/news/id/268-datamined-10310057-patch-changes-unofficial/ The IAS nerf is brutal. I currently have 13 + 12 + 14 = 39% IAS, post-patch it's going to go down to around 5 + 6 + 6 = 17%. Ugh. I guess it's justified to nerf IAS given how good it was (massive dps and loh effectiveness increase), but still, that sucks. Do you people also use(d) IAS a lot and are going to have to replace parts of your gear? It's also going to suck for 2h, it's fucking horrible/tedious/boring to play 2h without IAS... feels the same as playing a brood war game at normal speed instead of fastest.

over this weekend I bit the bullet and powerleveled a DH. I hit 60 (never really played DH other than act2 snakes and getting PL) dropped 6.5M on the AH for starter items.. and I clear act 3 inferno azmodan faster, easier and obviously more efficiently than my 170+ hours, god knows 80+ million gold barb. feelsbadman. Oh well, I'll be able to farm better now on this cheapo DH and gear my barb to be godlike come next patch. I'd rather play barb and i intend on playing him agani eventually, I just have to farm better and seems like I found my solution for now. ~_~

I also rolled a Wizard that was able to beat A1-A3 smoothly in blues and spent a max of 200k on buying AH shit, while my Barbarian has millions and millions of gold worth of gear and progresses 2x or 3x slower. Also hoping to farm gear with Wiz to dump to Barbarian. I still don't want to give up on Barbarian and I still have more fun playing it.

(this wont really be relevant come the next patch). was going to make wall of text, maybe tomorrow. too tired.

Video guide: (the video is about 3 times longer than it needs to be so I apologize in advance) I've been running it with a WotB/EQ build with a 1-hander and shield. 120% or so MF and haven't gotten anything particularly good in an hour or two but I think it shows some promise.

As mentioned before in this thread, the Act II snake casters that channel a lightning storm are easy for Barbarians due to their low damage and high Revenge activation rate. Elites based off of this type are also easy since they prefer to channel their lightning storm rather than use abilities (like arcane sentry, mortar, desecrate, etc.). There's always an elite of this type right next to a checkpoint so it can be farmed similar to Iskatu. They also appear right before the Belial fight, which is a nice bonus when you're doing Kulle-Belial runs as you have 5 NV stacks by that point.
