You need like 1000+. Your shield has shit block too. You need to balance str and vit and resist. Try going for 800 resist 1000 str and like 45k + hp Your gear is just pretty bad overall. Keep farming and making money and buy better gear. You have like 30 str 30 vit on some pieces.. which is quite pathetic. You can't sacrifice THAT much stats for AR. It's better to have something like 120/80 main stats and lower AR. | ||

In this case, you need to focus more on your armor/resistances. A1/A2 are mostly about getting those 2 stats up to par. Armor and resistances need to be balanced. The optimal balance point is something like 10xResist = Armor, with a little wiggle room for buffs/passives. I'd recommend swapping Inspiring Presence for Tough as Nails. The 25% bonus armor is much more significant than the 1% life regen. Realistically, your sustainability should be coming from Revenge in A1, and supplemented with Life on Hit as you progress into higher acts. | ||

i'm looking to create a 2h barb with pretty decent sustain. i just had a glass cannon DH with 110k unbuffed DPS and am looking to play a more durable DPS role. since i would have to regear my DH entirely to do that I decided to gear out a barb instead. i know 2h barb isn't fully explored at this point, but does anyone have any ideas on key pieces? i don't want to be a 2 minute cooldown bot. (well, i am totally down to kill elite packs in 5 seconds, if it's not at the expense of my character getting owned by white mobs). I already explored briefly with using a shield while rounding up mobs and then switching to a 2h but that is annoying as hell with the current UI. i'm going to be building this character to beat the game before patch 1.03 comes out (with 5 stack, no skipping), but also with the realization that the game will be nerfed and that i will be able to farm easier in the future. for that reason i've been trying to get a bit of MF on my actual gear since I assume they're going to change out the gear swapping at some point. for example my shoulders are 220 str, 80 res all and 18 mf 16 gf, or something along those lines. anyone got any ideas or recommendations? tldr: i want to wreck shit, not get wrecked GIVE TIPS SENSEI~ <3 | ||

i think i'll be a little more experimental with ls + loh because i'm not really feeling the revenge spam with the 2h build (beat a2 with that build because it was more effective for me than seismic, but seismic seems better for me in a3) i think he has more HP than i'm really looking to get, i'm looking to stay in the 30-40k range but we'll see might need more~ not sure | ||

That gear seems good for act 1. What everyone else said is true, but it also seems to me like your're doing a middle of the road build which requires waaaay better gear. My gear isn't much better than yours and I can solo act 2 with my shitty laptop (terrible terrible lag). For a tank build switch inspiring presence for relentless or tough as nails. Switch weapon throw + berserker rage for ignore pain + leap/threatening shout. You won't be killing anything quickly, but you won't die. The crit stuff is pretty meh for a tank build and the attack speed isn't worth it until you have more life on hit. Switching that gear for more strength will increase your armour and even out your dps. It doesn't need to be any higher yet. | ||

(That sounds like a line out of a kid's movie) I alternate between a 2H and a 1Hshield because sometimes I take LESS damage with the 2H. For intsance, the big trees in act 1. I take twice as long to kill them with my shield and they end up doing more damage to me this way, even if I have more HP, armor and resists. My point it, maybe you should try adding an offensive skill. I'm a big fan of Hammer of the Ancients, it punches holes in everything. With the stun rune, you can even use it defensively. | ||

when I get home I'm going to try wearing my tank gear and 2h and see if thats better for act3/4 than my current cheapskate 2h allout 60-80k dps builds. I will lose a lot of burst obviously but if my survivability is better vs whites it's probably worth it. I definitely wouldn't bother trying his build for act1/2 though since those are 100% faceroll with dps stacking. Hrm.. | ||

I think it's really easy to get to 30k dmg with 1h + shield, I hardly have any str on alot of armor pieces and I have 25K dmg. With slightly better armors (Lets exaggerate - 10M worth of gear) I think I can hit the 30K easy and still enjoy my 24% block + 67 resist stormshield. Not that it matters because I'm going to sell all my gear tommorow in the RMAH (Hopefully!). | ||

Edit: Also, is it really supposed to be possible for a tank barb to actually tank the champion packs of soul lashers? They do so much more dps than everything I've encountered in act3 so far, it's crazy. | ||

Anyway I switched to 2h and zerged them with wotb+eq. But Ghom is manhandling me now. Act3 is seriously much more difficult than act2. (Btw what kind of damage does he do? Is superstition useful against him?) | ||
