Well i'm left with a little over 2 mil after the Sword, and a bracers upgrade (old bracer didn't have Resist All). Well admittedly, i spent a fair amount gearing up my DH, just average gear to make sure that she can solo up to act 2 Inferno. She's mostly on Butcher run duty actually.
In any case, unless im willing to settle for a low roll of String of Ears, i don't have the funds to shoot for a decent one. (Cheapest one i find in AH with >16% Melee Dmg Reduction is 2mil ++, which is about the same, or a little more than all i have). And i don't think that settling for a low roll of SoE is a good idea?

I feel it would be worth investing. When they drop in price. The craze is crazy on them...I got my 19% for like 800k but that was over a week ago.
I am now trying to get a Stormshield.

Any tips for inferno Rakanoth? His teleport one-shot is the gayest mechanic in the game. I can easily stun lock the summons long enough for DPS to shoot them down, but there aren't many answer that I can think of to prevent his teleport one-shot. Do I just need to pay really close attention and pop ignore pain or WoTB/Striding Giant whenever he starts his animation? I can't think of anything else other than to form an overgeared group.

I was actually tanking the first half of act3 yesterday in a group cinsisting of 2 barbs, wizard, DH. Yeah some of the packs we'd have to kite with me and the other barb just running in to stun shout and run away again, but we were definitely tanking most of it, and our gear isn't exactly godly.

Whoever came up with the shielding affix needs to be fucking shot.
There's literally nothing to fighting shielding except hoping the mob you chose to hit isn't the one who decided to turn his shield on.

With war cry with the + resist shout: 8167 armor 768-852 all resist, that's the spread. 53.2k hp melee damage reduced by 22.59% 712 life per hit 8k dps, though dps doesn't matter for tanking.
To the guy above, I've been doing some 5 stack zultan koole+belial runs. He is a big pain in the ass, but once you get the adds down its easy. Just dps him, dodge the tornados, dodge the falling debris when you can, if you're getting low run away and dodge the fireballs while waiting on potion CD. The only time I really die is when killing the adds since they really hurt.

I was very fortunate to get a 18% String of Ears for 55k That said, I still can't do jack past Act1.

What are you dying to? The hardest part of that fight are the two golems. Once those are dead.. you just tank the fireballs / cave-ins and avoid tornados. If you can't tank them than you switch to Weapon Throw and Call of the Ancients while avoiding cave-ins, tornados, and fireballs.
|
Just got him dead, kited him around until my WoTB and Earthquake was up. I didnt want to change spells since I had 5 stack neph so w00t ^^. I just poped all my stuff at the start and burned both adds then kited for days lol. This fight would be a joke as a range class :p

Life on hit and Revenge don't heal you off shielded enemies.

Fuck that.
I don't even know why Blizzard even allowed enemies to fly off the edge of the map. Its only purpose seems to be to troll melee classes.
Hmm, after reading the last few pages of this thread, I'm amused how many people are making decent progress through A2 into A3, given how 2 weeks ago people were bitching about how A2 is a brick wall and fundamentally broken for melee classes.

I think a lot of it had to do with how easy ROFL TOFU-CUTTING ACTION it was for Barbarian from Normal through A1 Inferno. Then the brick wall that is A2 Inferno came up and we were kind of left in the dust while several DH and Wiz still were able to progress forward through Inferno. Most of us were probably used to going as high-pace as before and it was awkward when we were among the first classes to hit that brick wall.

hell yeah!
That makes me happy. This is the only forum I use to discuss Diablo 3, or specifically barbarians. Maybe it's our background in StarCraft where we're so beaten into the ground and everyone sucks yet we still play to improve that makes the discussion here not only tolerable but enjoyable (shikyo, yango, skyR and the other contributers I've forgetting). Anywhere else you can discuss this game is just non-stop QQ, barbsuCKZ!!11!, reroll or be poor etc.
I won't lie, I've thought about rerolling countless times but some sick drive in me to be able to legit solo clear/farm (5NV diablo consistently/easily) inferno on barbarian keeps me coming back. I feel this small barb community shares that setiment more than any other I've visited.

I am glad the QQ is kept to a minimum. Trying to just figure out how to beat it, I love the challenge. Oh I just can't wait to do Act IV with 5NV. Getting there week by week .
