The answer is simple: the skill description is inaccurate. It increases cold all damage to slowed and frozen enemies.

Does cold blooded happen to work for hydra as well? IIRC hydras don't work for things like life on hit, which makes me think they function more like a minion in terms of damage.

didn't they hotfix coldblooded a week or two ago?
atleast that was my understanding don't have source to back it up tho

What stats does one need to go into Act 1 Inferno? I will probably use the WW Build. Thx for your time.

Honestly, I'd probably start act 1 inferno with something more like a blizzard/hydra build. The WW builds, at least in my opinion, don't really work tremendously well until you've got a min level of gear that exceeds what is needed to just do act 1 inferno. Force armor can also help alleviate the need for higher survival stats. I don't know what I would say as necessarily a requirement to do inferno act 1, but it is probably less than you might think.
I beat act 1 inferno on hardcore at 6k armor, 280 all res (out of whack compared to my armor, but best I could do with what I had), 13k DPS, and 32k HP (blizz/hydra no force armor). Somewhere in that neighborhood, but lower would be sufficient to get started. You won't need quite as much hp/armor/all res ... maybe like 2.5 - 3k amror, 200 res all, 25k HP or so to get started? I feel like that would be more than enough especially if force armor is used. I would concentrate more on DPS for softcore. Its doable around 10K+, but its fairly slow going.

I probably beat act 1 inferno with around 3k armor buffed, 12k dps buffed, no AR (except for my intel) and 22k hp. no crit, no crit damage, 15% ias (prenerf) 680 dps socketless weapon.
Really, it doesn't take much.

hey guys I just started a wiz, and it seems to me that WW build? is the most popular one here. is it possible to farm act3 inferno easily with 30mil gold worth of item settings?
I have only been playing demon hunter and have absolutely no idea anything about wizard builds/items/skills etc.

Depends on what you consider easily but yes, definitely. I spent maybe 20 mil (/w good deals, gear is around $30 mil) and I run act three pretty efficiently. only times I die are hrad mobs (shielding/firechain/runaways) and when i run past bridge when you get 1000 of those spear thrower dudes. you will still die though every once in a while, its inevitable.

I consider it easily if you can stack 5nv AND do the cydea+azmo run under 20 minutes, is it doable?
and I gotta say, leveling is so much more fun than just infinite farming

So I am using ww build and all was going well until I met Ghom. He drops me in like 5 seconds no matter what I do. Maybe there is a particular method to beating him I just hope the only soloution isnt to just get better gear as I really cant be bothered with that. ( All upgrades I could get are in the millions and I am really poor)

If you can't face tank him through the poison then you need to slowly kite him around. Go for damage when he reaches the edge of a cloud and/or when he summons the slimes. It's good to have a little LoH to have some sustain.
|
My friend is a wizard with the following stats:
DPS 40k Resistances around 500 for everything HP 55k
He's wondering if these stats are enough to farm act2/act3 inferno with.
|
|
how about he try and figure it out
|
Yeah if it's not Hc, just step in there and figure it out...

Yeah I was thinking I may have to do that. Could I maybe stack poison res? I have 420 res all right now. I am using force armor but maybe prismatic would be a better choice now?
|
You can try prismatic, if you kite him well you will rarely get hit by him (and when you do get hit you'll have diamond skin on most likely) so most of the damage will be sustained from standing in the poison if you get too greedy.

Any people who have spent a lot of time messing with wiz gear & the AH have some good advice on what are the easier slots to improve upon in terms of cost/time spent browsing the AH? Any specific upgrade ideas to any of the slots that wouldn't be absurd in terms of price/difficulty to find on the AH?
Here's what I have so far: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Alesso-1854/hero/2945079
I feel like the belt should be a lot better, but in the time I've spent looking through belts I've never really seen one that was reasonably priced with much better stats. Same goes for the bracers/shoulders.
|
I would say belt, shoulder, ring and ammy. Items with 4+ desirable stats are a pain to find usch that gloves, bracers, helm. Anything with sockets sucks too due to the searching mechanic that include stats from gems.
For ring and ammy, just search for int/crit hit/crit dmg and scroll through the list fast to find ones with decent defensive stats.

Really, it doesn't take much. Not hardcore you didn't unless you were carried and avoided every champion pack/rare on the way and post 1.03 the butcher would have hit his rage timer.
