QUESTION:
what are the essential and best left clicks for DH?
i've been using piercing arrow with 50% bonus pierce chance for pretty much the entire game and I've never found a satisfactory substitute. i've heard that 70% bonus pierce damage rune is also good, can someone explain why?

Devouring Arrow/Hungering arrow is the most popular as the "best" left click. Because the second pierce will do +70% damage, and it can pierce the same target more than once. Thus doing terrible terrible damage.
I like Cover Fire/Evasive Fire myself

How do people get around the problem of missing stuff with left click, or firing offscreen?

Hungering Arrows -To a degree it will home in on the target, not nearly as good as Magic Missile/Seeker but it will seek out its target to a degree.

Most people use devouring arrow (70% bonus damage) because it has higher DPS, although I haven't seen the actual math supporting it. I use the 50% pierce chance because I use a bunch of CC procs on my gear but I don't think many people go for that.

SS doesn't protect from molten (or whichever one leaves lava on ground) it seems, or something weird. Sometimes I die, sometimes I regain my health after the ss runs out.
Also how much DPS average for belial inferno? I've been trying with some friends and we getting raped because not enough dps for stage 2.

It does, but sometimes latency will cause strange things to happen.

A note - devouring and hungering do literally exactly the same DPS. =)

I've been stuck at 0 health a ton of times from ss (in actuality I recover to full health, it's display issue only), it can be super buggy sometimes. Though it's not as bad as vault which causes me to double vault like 1/3rd of the time.

I'm trying to make a balanced and reasonably survivable build. It's probably far from the best build but could become one if Blizzard gives a much needed 2nd nerf to Smoke Screen whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat
it's already at 1.5 sec with lingering fog... how much more are they going to nerf it?

Nether Tentacles on part 3 of Belial on Inferno was pretty laughable. Part 2 of that fight is kind hard just trying to stay alive, so you think part 3 will be even harder... then you realize tentacles is doing like 1 million DPS on him.

-Cross I assume you are talking about devouring vs puncturing arrow?
I think puncturing arrow is far superior if the mobs generally die in 3 hits or less. This is because devouring arrow will overkill and waste damage on the primary target instead of getting a bigger chance to hit more targets. If the mobs have a lot of hp, devouring arrow might do more damage. I think devouring is better on bosses and high hp mobs.

-Cross Still, I'd like to see math rather than an unfounded statement.
Or maybe I'll do it myself when I'm not so tired...

I haven't done any azmo runs, but solo siege runs are so good and quick in my experience. There's always 2-4 elites in keep 3, then get 5th nv at the next stage or tp to the area near underbridge where there's always 1 guaranteed elite inside, along with a chance for resplendent chest. If I'm lucky and get 4 elites in keep 3, I can do the run in 20 mins. If not, goes up to 30 minutes for 5nv stack siege run. I'm betting it'll take longer to do the spider/azmo, but you get double bosses so I guess it all depends on how fast you can do it, i.e. how good is your gear.
noob tip: you can bring tyrael to keep 3 to block entrances for easy elite kills

If you have trouble then Siegebreaker would definitely be better because of Tyrael, and Siegebreaker being super easy.
