Damage Damage % Attack Speed
Stats and Crit are not factored. If a weapon is socketed with a Ruby the DPS is not accounted for on the auction house (although it is accounted for on the auction house listing where it lists in DPS order). The ruby damage is updated in game though.
Is it possible to sign out for a short period of time (say to check the AH) without losing your NV? I read some where that there's a small grace period in case you DC, but all of my DCs lost the NV. Anyone have any experience with this?

i've never heard that you could leave a game and retain your NV.

There was mention of it being added as a feature in one of the Development Blogs, but it isn't implemented yet.

so i looked though the monk thread, and didnt see this asked or awnsered really, so was curious if anyone knew roughly off hand how much gold you have to put into a monk to do act 3?
with dual wielding i mean, i know almost everyone runs a shield but i rather stack IAS and LOH instead. and some ruff stat estimates would be nice as well. thanks

the answer varies, vastly - if you put a lot of time into camping AH looking for good deals, probably as low as a couple mil - but that is all based on a volatile market that you have no control over

A ton of happy clouds + pinata. It's in high demand because a single person can clear the level, then allow friends (or strangers) to access the numerous "chests". It hasn't been nerfed because it's significantly difficult to clear the level, though something might be done about joining the party...

You can stack LoH and IaA with a shield, in my experience A3 is not feasible with dual wield. I would say in order to comfortable do A3, at least 15m, averaging around 1m per piece and 3m for weapon. usually jewelry costs much more.
With the way the auction house works could I put in ridiculous bids on items with low starting bid prices and simply win them for the starting price because nobody can/wants to go above my inital super super high bid?

They haven't said yet but I HIGHLY doubt they would let you use your regular gear in PvP. They have never done it like that before in Diablo. They might segment PvP into tiers with standardized gear checks at every tier or something, but that would be it I would think.

No it works like an auto bidding system.
Say an item has a 1000 gold bid and you bid max up to 1,000,000 gold max. At that point the system can see you've out bid the 1000 and puts you as winning the item with a bid of 1050 for instance.
Person two comes along and bids 2000 and the system increases the bid to 2000 but realises your bid is higher so increases it to 2050 with your bid winning and the other bidder just gets a refund.
Eventually other people keep bidding thinking 2050 is still a good deal and it get bid up to 900,000 with the system all the while automatically bidding for you and you would win but the system will have been increasing your bid to match those so you'd get the item and about 100,000 back.

Gear has always been a factor in PvP. I highly doubt this would change with Diablo 3.
Considering PvP has turned into their bastard project, I doubt they would make any sort of gear check for it either.

This is a nice guide for gearing in general, its more for beginner stuff once you hit 60 but it is a good place to start.
It doesn't have anything about a shield though, most DH's avoid shields because in general Demon hunters are too squishy and will die in one hit even with a shield. Perhaps check out a hardcore demonhunter thread if you can find one.
The general consensus i have heard is to avoid shields and vitality in general because you will get one hit anyways. I have 17k life and am in act 3 inferno.

I would say so, i have made it up to act 4 seigebreaker and farm that often, but will still return to act 1 Butcher when I feel like not dying. Butcher can have you get some good rings and amulets. Past that you wont get much from act 1. Act 2 farming I avoid altogether, the odd magda run can be done but I am not a fan of act 2 at all.
