Maybe it's been asked already, but sometimes when I "revive at checkpoint" it revives me at the town instead of at the closest checkpoint. For example in the last half hour I've been dying a lot in the skycrown battlements and just this last time, instead of reviving at the start of the level like usual I revived at the town and had to walk all the way back. It happens really often to me. Any reason for that?

Its because town is considered a checkpoint for certain quests. If you want to revive at a different point, you just have to pass through that checkpoint.

he folks,

just want to know at which point of the game u guys hit lvl 60 on your HC chars. my highest HC char is an 52 barb in actIII nightmare what seems to be itemlvl whise a huge step behind my lvl but i am still a little chicken .

I have a question about how block chance functions with dodge.
If i have a 50% dodge chance and a 50% block chance will:
A) all hits either be blocked or dodged (50% dodged and 50% are blocked)
B) 50% of hits are dodged, 25% are blocked and 25% are neither blocked or dodged

Essentially do block and dodge stats stack with each other?

A is definitely not true. I'm torn if B has the correct percentages or not though. You have the right idea if nothing else.

I have played games before where block chances stacked onto dodge so you could make it so that you either dodge and attack or block it. However if that was not the case in diablo 3 it should follow the B setting, just wondering for sake of calculating effective hp.

Is using macro to swap into MF gear a bannable offence? I'm still hesistant to use one and would like to know if anyone has been punished for it after yesterday's ban wave.

My friend has a pay as you go phone and couldn't get it to work. I'm not willing to say this is true for all of them though.

I haven't yet seen anyone banned for it, but it is against the ToS.

Is there any site where people use to find out information game mechanics and abilities? Just reading and watching things there are a bunch of things the game doesn't tell you. Like what are the caps on certain stats like attack speed? Lifesteal is nerfed on higher difficulties but life on hit is not. Extra things not fully explained in advanced tool tips etc. For now I'm just reading random reddit and forum posts, but that's very unreliable and the wikis I've found are not very good.

if its the same as WoW, it would be block+dodge.

However inferno mobs are higher level (ie 61 in act 1, 62 in act 3, 63 in act 3 and 4). Dodge and block may be a little less effective against them (same goes for armor).

Only attacks that hit can be blocked. Of the 50% that are not dodged, 50% is blocked. Scenario b) is true.

How do resistances work? 30 fire resistance is 70% fire damage instead of 100%? I'm assuming it's multiplicative so you can't get have it so you take 0% fire damage. For example two 30% fire reduction items would result 49% fire damage taken instead of 40%?

Click "details" in your inventory panel, and mouseover the fire resistance tab. It'll tell you how much damage reduction you get when taking fire damage from enemies of the same level as you. Have fun performing math if you want to find out reduction from enemies of different levels.
