For instance if an item is +40 physical resistance and +40 all resistance, does that mean you get a +80 boost to all resistances?

Do these two get added together? For instance if an item is +40 physical resistance and +40 all resistance, does that mean you get a +80 boost to all resistances? Yes Assuming it is Physical Resistance that you're stacking.

We're talking about the Monk passive that makes all your resists equal to your highest resist. Unless if I'm horribly mistaken and have been using items with both x resist and all resist for no reason, not sure if I ever double checked it but pretty happily lived under the impression it worked.

What's the quickest way after all the recent power leveling nerfs? Also, while killing the act bosses for him we noticed that he'd occasionally get experience from normal monster kills while standing in town, but for the most part he didn't. Do anyone know how to trigger this bug? belial runs for lvling

That's correct. With the passive you will get +80 to all resists. That's why 'All with one' considered the best Monk passive and a must have in any build.

I just finished normal and the only thing I see for that is collecting pages to upgrade the guy. There are, but they don't drop until Inferno I believe (maybe the lower level ones drop before that, but I've never seen them). They are pretty rare drops regardless though.
