Can some1 give me any more details regarding skill progression as you lever up for any caster class. Couse its rather clear to see how a higher lvl barb would be more powerful but i cant see it for a wizard/WD. Or do you just have to use higher level skills to be effective (i know higer lvl = better i just dont like the idea of being forced to use the last 6 skills you unlock. Kind of defeats the purpose of their "you can make infinite char with the 6 available skills) I assume that all offensive skills deal more damage the higher level you are (it would be absurd if they didn't). Offensive spells becomes additionally more effective once you apply high level runes to them. Plus there are item affixes with faster cast speed and additional wizard spell damage etc.
But melee characters are indeed more main weapon dependent, as they always have been, in almost all RPG:s.

will it get to the point similar to d2 where you have to your 1 MF character fully decked in +MF% to make runs efficient? Or will we be able to farm effectively on our mains? Diablowiki has a good page about magic find:

And javazons. He never played d2 enough alot of classes can solo hell and much more builds it's just a matter of time invested in trying to do it, hammerdins are popular in d2 for hell because of immunities along with the aoe it made it a very bot friendly class. But it's far from it all classes had viable builds for hell sorc hard the hardest time just due to immunities you'd run into that if your solo you'd unlikely be able to get very far without extensive trading. He also ignores the PVP aspect of d2 in which other classes build become much more prevalent such as shapeshifting druids enchantresses etc

With the real money auction house being added everyone will try to sell their items for realy money. (especially rare ones) The value of ingame gold will fall dramatically as long as there isn't anything interesting to buy with it. Does anyone know how they handle that issue? They need to make gold desirable somehow...
They need NPCS selling sick shit for huge amounts of ingame gold...

Will there be any way to queue up a friend and yourself to duel each other in the pvp system? I realize that pvp won't exist inside the basic pvm world, which has me worried that 1v1s won't even exist.
Also, does anyone know if hardcore characters in D3 will be playable in softcore mode after their death? Or are they completely erased...

Read the wiki, couldn't find an answer to this: Is the monk's reincarnation passive effective in hardcore?

Are you referring to "Near death experience"? Nothing suggests that it would work differently in HC or SC. Remember that it has a cool down of 90 seconds.

Although I dont have a source for this, i highly doubt that this will be the case. My guess is that it will stay the same like in D2 .. dead=dead ! Otherwise HC mode would be a joke imho

Does anyone know what the themes/locations are for the different acts?
Will there be 4 acts like in Diablo 2?
Does anyone know how much Arcane Power the Wizard has in his pool as default? I believe it is a static number that remains the same throughout the game.

I'm not really worried about gold being redundant, the crafting system seems like an awesome goldsink and even in the beta where there's not much to do really, people are spending most of their gold crafting better gear to maximize their chars.

+ Show Spoiler + Act 2 is some kind of desert as shown in previous footage from blizzcon etc. a few years back. people have datamined some info on the other 2 acts (yes there seem to be 4 acts total) but I'm staying away from those topics (don't want to spoil the entire game yet).
not sure how much AP the wizard has but I think you are right, it's static but you can increase it with items, + to arcane power etc.

Will there be an option to turn off "plot helpers" like those arrows on minimap and probably other stuff like that? I really don't want to fly through the game like this..

While watching a stream however, there was a quest that required the player to find something in a tomb.. there were three different tombs and the game didn't say which one to go to. It seems like there is some randomness and guessing involved like in D2. Also there will always be the fun times looking for the entrance to the next area. Not sure if these transitions will be as narrow as in D2, but I hope it will be a part of the game at least.

Thanks, I agree.. Also, I don't see any reason not to make this as an option. If you really struggle or you are in a hurry, then lets turn this "helpers" on, but otherwise - no need for this. It only ruins fun.

Agreeing with both of you here, I think one of the incentives to go through the entire map will be those random events also, they seem to get you good enough rewards to bother looking for without just flying through the game.

I actualy like those helpers. I always explored every inch of a map in D2 so I just view this helper as a point i need to avoid before i explore the rest of the map.

I agree to some degree. The problem with those helpers however is that you know where you eventually end up fulfilling most of the quests probably. This takes away a lot of depth/atmosphere from the game. It also reduces fun while replaying Diablo.. I might be a bit too concernd with this, but as great as D3 looks, this bothers me the most probably..

Some thoughts:
How well are the classes balanced right now? I've seen many people blindly assume that the game works exactly like D2, and that they will make a wizard first as their MF character because they kill stuff the fastest and whatnot. I cannot be the only one who finds this illogical and thinks the game will be a little better balanced this time around.
Speaking of MF, is it even in the game?

wouldnt worry about that too much. it works fine in tf2. very often people sell their high tier stuff for $ OR ingame items. most still for ingame stuff tho.
it might turn out a bit more $ heavy in d3 since the whole paypal problem isnt there but then again money thats sitting on a battlenet account is wasted money pretty fast. its not like blizz has many games you wanna buy anyways. and outside of blizzards system we are back to ebay or "risky" paypal deals which many people want to avoid.
also they already said gold will be important and even if not then the community will make their own "currency" again (see SoJ,shako etc) .
wouldnt worry about the $ auction house too much. and after trading quite alot in tf2 the thought that i can pay with d3 items for sc2/d3 expansions like i can buy steam games with tf2 items now is quite nice.

mf will be in the game yes. about mf chars... well in the end you will have one class thats best for mfing. which only time will tell but i guess 2 things matter most: # 1. mobility . sorc teleport just made her WAY faster then any other class. if one class turns out to be moving way faster through the levels thats a huge plus. 2. item dependancy. the class that relies the least on item power can stack more mf without getting too weak

There will be a "cash out" option though.
