Anyone else worried they will introduce some additional Protoss nerfs due to them having a seemingly high win rate in bronze/silver/gold? they seem to hint at something like this at least..

this is interesting, they just removed terran the option to cheese, esp in tvt, while it may seem like a good thing, i think this hurts the game a bit as cheese was always an integral part of the game's development. Also reapers are one of those units that dont really do anything after the initial phases of the game, since terran has much better harassment units like blue flame hellion to take over mid to late game. This patch doesnt make much sense to me, however i do like the roach range increase. By how much is another question.

Hellion builds will be ineffective because apparently roaches were meant to counter them, and not just be kited by them. Of course, since the roach range boost is probably only going to be +1 (3 -> 4), the hellions will still out-range roaches by 1 I believe (2 for partial).

It's been a long time coming, but the roach range buff balances out the 1->2 supply change in beta. It was kind of silly how you could kite roaches with almost any non-melee unit.

Considering switching to zerg now...

You'll worry less about what people think about you when you realize how seldom they do.

seems like the statistics tells us that the number of Zerg players are shrinking while those still active improve their skills exponentially. My personal opinion is that zerg is pretty hard to play but if you know what your doing, you might get some!

Those win% mean absolutely nothing you realize? The system tries to force everyone towards a 50% win rate.

The proxy marauder rushes and the double barracks on 9 marine rushes were probably too strong. The reaper change is pretty dumb but oh well, maybe they'll do something to buff them so they can become more of a regular unit now. The roach change definitely allows them to be used offensively. Zerg buildings desperately needed a HP buff.

The one thing I'm a bit worried about with the Terran barracks change is Terran pretty much can't cheese anymore while the other races still can.

6 pool on Steppes vs a Terran who probably won't be able even finish the rax before they arrive? Sure, with good micro the terran might hold off the first lings, but at low levels it's going to destroy terran every time.

I'd like to point out that it's still Blizzard and they did mention they were options the were considering. Nothing is set in stone and I feel both sides of the fence need to realize that.

I personally highly disagree with the Barracks requiring a Depot change, as the other changes they have mentioned would deal with Terran rushes well enough. Such as Nitro Packs being moved to Factory Tech, meaning Speedlings would be able to contain them and Terran would have a higher tech cost to reach that upgrade. Although that does mean we have the opportunity to see some Hellion + Reaper Ideas. In other words, opening up more styles of play rather the eliminating it is a much better change to me.

Sigh, I guess I'm glad I started playing random a few weeks ago.

I'm an aggressive Terran player and I 9 rax vs toss and 10 rax vs Terran. I usually rauder rush toss into a fe and rine bunker t's to a FE.

I'm not a big fan of TvT so I play it different with early aggression and a FE to gain a economy advantage. Now my tvts are going to be soooo boring like normal tvt .

The other changes are fine, but the rax? Come on if Zerg can 6 pool I should be able to 9 rax !

Well colossus and storm are both equally as effective, colossus might be better as it is preferred to storm by korean pros.. so nerfing just storm wont fix it.

we need to see some sort of colossus nerf, maybe reduced range. also the warp gates are sick, protoss can rebuild an army even faster than they could in sc1. Also archon warp is sick, it happens fast and toss can drop 6 storms then make an archon and they finish super fast.

we need to see zealot nerf, HT nerf, colossus nerf, archon nerf, and perhaps get rid of the warp gates. I dont see why they are needed, in BW toss had a macro advantage and even in sc2 without warp gates, toss still has a higher gateway/warpgate count than the terran has barracks.

Proxy void ray can be completely retarded when they hide it until they have 3 and you are unable to scout him properly, or scout him incorrectly.

Not unbeatable, just stupid because if you dont prepare specifically for it, you die really hard. There are prob some terran equivalents of this of course.

Void Rays suck against Terran. Getting 3 Void Rays allows you to get at least 15 Marines, and 15 Marines with Stimpack active win against 3 Void Rays- charged or uncharged.

3 void rays + 3 warpgate push, if you dont have vikings and/or a bunch of bunkers you will die. You stim once, he force fields your ramp and retreats, comes back when your marines have 10 less hp and repeats.

Im not even saying its imbalanced, but its good.


My point is the Role of the void ray is that of a reaper. You don't want it in your army, you only use it to all-in or watever. Its a Black Sheep unit just like the reaper is and outside of its niche it has few uses. If Void Rays did shit damage to buildings would you ever consider rushing for them?

We're increasing roach range. This will allow roaches to be more effective in large groups, giving the zerg more options in the mid to end game.

This as an upgrade is OK

The reaper speed upgrade will require the Factory, which is meant to weaken a lot of the early terran reaper attacks that dominate so many matches, especially in team games.

This makes no sense imo :D
Inputting special characters into chat should no longer cause the game to crash.

And here i though that zerg had potential even without this nerfing, So sad that people can't play zerg right that they have to nerf terran over and over, even in diamond i get stomped by good zergs......Gotta love blizzard
