From an user post at Fomos

Keboard
- QSENN DT-35 (USB/PS2) - white or black
--> It has to be USB/PS2 combination. All progamers use this.

Mouse
- Logitech Mini Optical - Original, Ladybug, Soccer Ball, Football
--> All four models are not sold except in South Korea, but you can get Original from the Internet. Other three models are harder to get. All of them function the same; they just have a different design. Most progamers use this, but to give examples:
- Original - Jaedong
- Soccer Ball - Bisu
- Football - most gamers at KTF
If you sweat a lot, avoid Soccer Ball. And make sure to use mouse-wear!

Mouse Pad
- Qck mini or mass (steel series)

I thought all progamers used these mouse pads:
http://www.mapad.co.kr/

Except for HoeJJa, who uses the Func Surface 1030.

(I love all the "random" translations you're doing, it's good stuff )

Sea uses the soccer ball one IIRC. I thought it was really appropriate given his young face and youngish age (not so much anymore I guess).

Isn't that because Razer sponsors WeMade FOX?

I got a Logitech Optical Mini to see how it was (I usually use a Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 -- best mouse ever). There's a problem with it if you move it too fast, it goes spastic. Very easy to see even on desktop, but especially noticeable in FPS games where you have to flick around a lot.

It also wasn't as smooth (even with the same DPI, same refresh rate (500Hz)) as my 3.0.

PS. At the same time as getting the mouse I got a DT-35. No complaints with that though. Its a nice simple keyboard with good tactile response and no issues with pressing too many keys at once. Quite nice to type on too.

this mouse is crap. koreans just use it because like all asians they have conformity hardwired into their brain-set. the qsenn dt-35 is also crap (i have both white and black) everyone uses it because 10 years ago that was the shitty keyboard and mouse that the ancients used. so everyone wanted to be like them and thus bought the crap gear. 10 years later it hasnt changed. if you want a good mouse with laser precision and no-fail tracking. i suggest razer krait.

The Razer Salmosa is the latest small 3 button entry level mouse that Razer offers. I would suggest getting that instead. Artosis mentioned that Nada uses the Salmosa because Razer sponsers Wemade. The Salmosa offers up to a 1000 hz refresh rate and I think that it really helps. Standard mouse has a 125 hz refresh rate which means it refreshs every 8ms, but 1000hz mouses refreshes every 1ms.

i have no problem with the mini optical

although it can't "read" extremely fast flicking, keep in mind:
1. starcraft is played in a 640x480 window
2. you're probably playing with a high enough sensitivity that you won't even need to flick your mouse that quickly

i even use the mini optical to play FPS games now, which isn't really a problem because I'm a med-high sens player

There can't be a mouse/keyboard thread without mention of the MX518. I picked one up a month or so ago, and I've fallen in love with this mouse. It's just perfect, well worth the $40 it is now.

yeah i mean i can sell my logitech mini optical to whomever needs it.
it's probably the smoothest mouse out there for a game with low res like starcraft, but
i've grown to like my razer better. haha

The problem with that is it's still a 400 dpi mouse. High sensitivities with low dpi mice mean a big lack of precision. You'd feel a big difference using a high DPI mouse with high sensitivities. Besides, you can't put Windows mouse sensitivity up so technically if you wanted a mouse that was high-sensitivity for starcraft you'd have to get a higher DPI mouse. Personally I love my low-DPI 3.0 because I use fairly low sensitivites in games.

PS. Windows mouse sensitivity effect (try it in paint)

the logitech miniop is perfect when you play starcraft. But in other use, especially if it is in high resolution, its kinda annoying.

i think its weird that they use the QCK pads. My qck+ pad (the huge one) slides really bad with the mouse. I had to replace the feet of the mouse -_-

hell i used to be the one explaining this in mouse threads

in-game sensitivities don't mess with the precision from the 6th notch
of course in starcraft there is no "in-game sensitivity" slider so you're actually forced to lose precision if you want higher or lower sensitivity in it

p.s. i even made this for my clan once to explain how to tweak a mouse (might be outdated)

the logitech mx510 is quite nice. i have a red one. but i find my razer death adder beats it. i know i sound like a razer rep or something... but i collect keyboards and mice.. their mice are simply the best i've used... their keyboards are nothing special though. if you want a nice keyboard (which must be mechanical -- makes the clackity clack and doesnt ever jam, ever) get a steel series. they are expensive though. otherwise for cheap mechanical keyboard check out Cherry Keyboards

Aren't 500, 510, and 518 all the same exact size except different ugly design?
The mouse is good but its far too heavy and awkward feeling. Also you don't need all those extra browser buttons for a gaming mouse. That's why I rock 2 mice!
..and then I would, ya know, check em'. (Aka SpoR)
