So essentially what will happen when Obama wins? This is going to change the world, for better or for worse. As a global recession is imminent, how will he lead the USA, the supposed power house of Earth.

Obama at least has the possibility to change the world to the better if he really tries to. He appears to be honest, pacifistic and idealistic. Clinton is too power-hungry and tangled up with lobbies, and McCain is, well, a republican.

New article from AP:

Analysis: Time, delegate math working against Clinton

Clinton needs to win a forbidding 65 percent of the delegates in the remaining primaries to draw even with Obama in pledged delegates. It's a share she has achieved only once so far, in Arkansas, where her husband was governor for more than a decade.

Considering that Obama's gonna have to figure out how to deal with a bunch of people who want to blow us up, I don't think pacifism is really a redeeming quality in him as a candidate. Not to mention the fact that no matter how much he says he's going to leave Iraq we aren't going to do it. We're simply too invested in it to leave.

I never understood the fascination with the religion of our presidential candidates. Unless they're Scientologists or belong to some other cult, it's simply not relevant.

The reasons behind them wanting to blow you up are caused by the policies of the past.
Considering you just pissed off another group of people, regardless of who is president you can expect blow-back for another 50 years.
Social Justice is a fools errand. May all the adherents at its church be thwarted. Of all the religions I have come across, it is by far the most detestable.

It's a good thing you're very credible in the field of international relations and not just a semi-pro Starcraft player.

Where did this talk of pacifism come from? Remember Obama's statements on a hypothetical situation involving Pakistan earlier this year that the media talked about for a couple weeks? He's hardly a pacifist.

He's not a pacifist, but he does believe that the US should act far less arrogantly on the world stage than it has been. Although, ironically, the guy who won the presidency in 2000 was saying the same thing.
That wasn't any act of God. That was an act of pure human fuckery.

Indeed. "the United States must lead the world in battling immediate evils and promoting the ultimate good." -- Obama.
