I feel you man, just go to arathi and farm elites, you can easily bump your ilvl to 330-335.

yeh farm elites in arathi for 2-6 piece of 340 gear depending how lucky you are (thats the range I've seen)
Win one arena game (first win is guaranteed 340 piece, even if it takes you a few losses to tank your mmr down its worth)
The world bosses and probably use your seals on them.
some ez stuff you can catch up with.
Edit: For the record here, in arena gear matters hardly at all at low mmrs you scale heavily. No one seems to know the details of how its working, but on extremely neglected alts a buddy and I were 316 and 296 ilvl respectively and you could hardly even feel any gear disparity at all. If you have a friend and are any good at arena at all you can gear up INSANELY fast compared to normal progression. (we each got ~10 340+ pieces in a couple hours of doing 2s)

I got some good luck with Arathi elites although I'm still only ilvl 321 because I have a few sub 300 pieces still (mostly rings/trinkets). Friends that want to play with me are all Alliance and I'm gonna join them eventually, but I'm trying to unlock Void Elves first because none of the other Alliance races interest me
edit: just checked and one of my fingers is 295 and my trinkets are 268/277 lmao. Please RNG gods give me a drop. Maybe I'll get a trinket from the next rotation of WQs.

There are basically free 300's on the AH. There are also darkmoon card trinkets ranging from about 15k to 90k depending on how good they are; 15k for the bad caster DPS one, 30k and 90k for the two DH trinkets which are solid gear choices for mythic raids.
No one seems to know the details of how its working
As far as i can tell they're cancelling out differences in mainstat and stamina which leaves only secondary stat differences but the change in secondary stats between somebody with low vs high gear is minor because secondaries aren't on azerite gear and had their scaling slowed on other pieces. We ended up at far lower amounts of secondaries than i expected and we're gonna be stuck here for a very long time

Looks like people are having a lot of trouble queuing up for the warfront, I literally started the moment the contribution 100% and got into a group, its decent, wish the enemy waves were a lot more powerful but overall it was a lot of fun because a lot of my group were RPing and got into it.

We also saw that it's not just gonna swap phases when the resource bar completes like many of us expected, they've added an additional 1 week wait time to live to make it into a roughly monthly cycle.
Week 1: Horde contribution bar (alliance world boss) Week 2: Alliance dead time (horde can queue warfront) Week 3: Alliance contribution bar (horde world boss) Week 4: Horde dead time (alliance can queue warfront)
|
that would be complete aids to have something to do twice per month for a major expansion feature.

I feel like a whole week seems ridiculous, it should be a day or two max, unless you can keep getting rewards for doing a warfront over and over.
also you forget that there will be more than one warfront going forward, like the barrens, so we'll have to see how it plays out, so far, aside from the AH profiting from the contribution phase, I don't think I got my full value out of this.
|
I gave up on trying to get into a warfront, decided to do M+ instead.
Turns out the group finder is just as fucked up because of the warfront and I cant get into groups or make one for my key. Have a lot of time to play today, but it seems it wont be WoW. Which sucks, because I wont get my weekly key done now.

I chose a great day to get the expansion. Can't even do the Battle for Lordaeron.

Some stuff related to that has been datamined but we don't have any official indication of what future warfronts will be or when they'd be released, could possibly be one for 8.1 time?
At this point in Legion we were well aware that Nighthold was coming. The "Nighthold" of BFA is either not developed much yet or has been kept well under wraps, so it may be intended as a surprise. New raid or not, i'd expect a fairly major patch like 8.1 / 8.1.5 towards the end of the year to January time with stuff like class and azerite/stat work.
|
They also said they thought the 1st major patch of Legion came out too soon so BFA's should probably be a while longer.

7.1.5 was really important, coming after EN and TOV already felt late. The Nighthold release wasn't as important as the class and system reworks that they did. They added new legendaries, balanced old legendaries, made changes to the AK system, rebalanced stats and more
Here are changes that they made in 7.1.5 (end of TOV) for just the DH and Druid, two classes that i've talked more about.
Demon Hunter
Havoc Increased the damage of most Havoc spells and abilities by 10%. (Blade Dance, Chaos Nova, Death Sweep, Demon Blades, Demon’s Bite, Eye Beam, Felblade, Fury of the Illidari, Metamorphosis, Throw Glaive) Annihilation and Chaos Strike damage have been slightly increased. Blind Fury now restores 35 Fury per second while channeling Eye Beam, in addition to increasing the duration. Chaos Cleave now hits all nearby enemies, including the original target, for 10% of the damage it inflicts. Demon Blades proc chance reduced to 60% (was 75%). Demonic Appetite now has a 25% chance to create a Lesser Soul Fragment with no cooldown (was a 50% chance, 15 second cooldown). Consuming a Soul Fragment generates 35 Fury (was 30). Lesser Soul Fragments now spawn to the left or right of the Demon Hunter. Demonic now lasts 8 seconds (was 5 seconds). Desperate Instincts no longer replaces Blur, and now increases the damage reduction effect by an additional 15%. Fel Barrage damage increased by 20%. Fel Eruption damage increased by 30%, cooldown reduced to 30 seconds (was 35 seconds), and the Fury cost has been reduced to 10 (was 20). Felblade’s cooldown resets 50% more often for Havoc Demon Hunters. First Blood bonus damage increased to 300% (was 200%). Mastery: Demonic Presence now increases Chaos damage by 11.2% (was 8%), and per-Mastery amount increased accordingly. Nemesis damage bonus increased to 25%. Netherwalk no longer replaces Blur. (Soul Cleave, Illidan’s Grasp, Shear, Sigil of Flame, Fiery Brand) Abyssal Strike now reduces the cooldown of Infernal Strike by 8 seconds (was 5 seconds). Agonizing Flames increases the damage of Immolation Aura by 20% (was 30%). Blade Turning increases the Pain generation of Shear and Sever by 70% (was 50%). Burning Alive’s Fiery Brand will now continue spreading from any target that has it, even if the initial primary target dies. Demon Spikes now reduces physical damage by 10% (was 20%). Demonic Wards now increases Stamina by 55% (was 45%). Demonic Wards now reduces all damage taken by 10% (was only magic damage). Fracture now costs 20 Pain (was 40 Pain). Last Resort cooldown now 8 minutes (was 3 minutes). This cooldown resets on death. Metamorphosis now also increases armor by 100%. Metamorphosis overrides Shear with Sever, which deals 20% more damage than Shear and always creates a Lesser Soul Fragment. Nether Bond has been removed. New talent at level 110: Demonic Infusion Draw from the power of the Twisting Nether to instantly activate and then refill your charges of Demon Spikes. Generates 60 Pain. Instant cast, with a 2 minute cooldown. Razor Spikes increases your Physical damage by 30% while Demon Spikes is active (was 20%). Sigil of Chains cooldown now 90 seconds (was 60 seconds). A friend and I have been waiting for the BFA version of this patch since before launch and seeing the launch i'm just holding out even more for it.

Did it actually hit 100%? Its just showing 99% for NA horde right now. That would be really annoying to have the queue for warfront for an entire week. It should only be 2-3 days at most (half the time it took for contributions at most). A week seems pretty bad for both sides in that you can only do it a few times a month.
I know they mentioned having more warfronts in the future so its likely that we will get more warfront areas to work on later. But I wouldn't expect that until 8.1 or later.

Sure the timer might work better with 2 warfronts but we dont have 2 now. So a shorter timer now and 2 longer offset timers when Barrens releases would be much better.
I wouldnt even expect Warzone Barrens in 8.1 since there has not been any testing done on it during Beta.

Got an insta queue for a Warfront. It was pretty boring, but I got a 340/370 (the 370 is only offered once from the quest) for like 30-45 minutes of work. From what I understand you can keep queueing it for 340s?

I'm not sure about arenas - i've heard otherwise from some people, that there was minimal noticable difference between playing i350 chars and their i300 alts. For open world and BG's at least there is a scaling system in place so that it might look like you're hitting for 30k but the enemy will actually take e.g. 23k damage from your 30k hit - it's like the NPC scaling in leveling zones.

They werent being 3-4 shot that was a bit of an exaggeration, but it felt really close to PvE numbers, any character with under 100k was usually either a bad player or someone you could blow up very easily. But we did run into more than our fair share of 2 dps comps though.
In contrast it feels like you deal a lot less damage in BGs but you also never know what rank/skill the other teams players are so that also makes a difference
