Have a video of it happening to us.
At 0:07 the player resets dark stacks, gets light for a fraction of a second then switches to dark again. Then at 0:10 after the divider is well past the group it switches to light again. Same thing happened to another player in that reset grp so that we ended up with 9.
Players Baschix and Boh get lunar debuff for the smallest fraction of second. Time is way to short to be consequence of player movement. Also same super short time for both players. Maybe this is somehow triggered by rotation of the char idk but I think its weird.
I dunno, I really like her mechanics, I think she's one of the rare boss to be so true to her theme. But she's really unforgiving. She feels like a true mythic boss currently.
Its super cool that you gotta feed the maw and the whale is pretty sweet but the tornados could be waves. I think its interesting that you fight in water but don't utilize some of the drawbacks of swimming. Reminds me of thogar mythic which is a fight I really enjoyed.

Yep, got to remind people constantly to stay put because they mistake another ability for the meteor and move out to early...

Fiancee asked me to try artifact challenge on her frost mage (ilvl 903). Boy I haven't felt that dumb in a long while.
I don't play much WoW these days, but mage is my main reaching back to vanilla. Rotation and everything felt fine, adjusted everything to my own binds and muscle memory. But damn that's going to take a few more tries than I expected lol.
Edit: Is the nethershard cost always 100? I thought it was supposed to increase or something

Its always hundred. I think I did it at about the same i level well maybe more like 905/908
Just make sure you have blizzard stacked up and have an orb running when you have to kill the hand + some kind of cc available when you have to go soak the thing. It only took me like 8 tries to do the frost one + Show Spoiler +
(took me like 30 tries to do the fire one, with DB helm probably wouldve been less than 10 also).
Other than that its just keep slows up and kite, the usual
I dont know if other people feel this way but its also useful to not overkill on the adds you want to keep blizzards ticking on them to keep your orbs up nonstop. Often you can have two orbs running and you need to decide whether using the second one is worth or not. A few tries and you will get the timing.

Did you have any 2/4pc set bonuses around that ilvl? Or maybe her itemization is just bad? (no 33% crit for example). It's just a casual alt for her with whatever gear/legendaries from world questing and stuff, but it's her favorite challenge appearance and I thought I'd be able to do it with my mage background.
I feel like 903->908 wouldn't be a massive jump, I should be able to make that up mechanically, but I'm consistently getting fucked by a third or even fourth Hand spawn. I can't kill the Hands fast enough to get decent damage in on Karam between spawns (interrupting/ice blocking hasn't been an issue), which means by the time the third Hand spawns and Karam is still >40% his speed has ramped up to a point that's hard to manage and most of the adds have died to blizz/orb so I lose all the free FoF procs. The 3rd/4th Hand either always blows me up, or Karam gets to me in the process (no more adds, no more fast orbs, no more free blizzards, no more slow on him, plus his stacking speed lol). I tried with pet as well for the freeze when Hand spawns to get instant 3 ice lances, and they still don't drop as fast as I'd like. Last night I figured I was getting outplayed but now it feels like a dps check. Except everyone seems to be doing it around ilvl 900 no problem so I feel really shitty. If I could kill Karam shortly after the ~2nd hand when all the adds start dying too it'd work out perfectly, but the damage just doesn't seem to be there without also popping Time Warp/pots, which I want to be saving for the last phase to burn Raest.
I tried dropping Arctic Gale to lower the damage blizz is doing to the adds too, to keep them alive longer, but didn't seem to help much.

Yes I had NH 4 piece. I had pretty much as good as you can get for the time. I think i played around with trinkets a bit but I cant remember what I used. Crit cap isnt like a super must or anything. The challenge definitely one of the easier ones. For me the trick is to not go ham on the adds and keep them up and make sure you have frozen orb available just prior to when you will need it. The blizzard and coc slows should be enough to keep your distance. I am not sure if they nerfed them or anything but I didnt really have a problem with having to few adds up unless I used double orbs. Either way.
Arctic gale is still useful because of the larger aoe and the damage upgrade should be negligble.
Its been a few months since I even logged into the game but if my memory is correct. The first phase I had him chase me off to the side so he dropped the initial puddles in but fuck nowhere and then dragged him near the middle to kill first time.
After that its just keep kiting around the middle circle blizzard + coc should be enough to keep everything off you. Make sure to drop puddles near the middle and skirt around him.
For the hand make sure your orbs are running through max amount of adds. If you have just like 1-2 up at a time you are probably doing too much damage so if you get double orbs available dont bother to use it and hold it along with ebonbolt for the hands.
I made a quick interrupt macro for the hand that buys you alot of time aswell.
So when the hand spawn Interrupt the hand.
Make sure your slows are active and try to manipulate the positioning a bit -> ebon combo and dump fof procs. If you interrupt you will have ample time to do all of this safely if you dont panic.
That should be enough to get the hand. Make sure that your blizzard never drops during any of this and that karam is running through it. You will get some timings where the hand spawns and then the circle that you have to soak spawns aswell. There is no solution for this you just have to execute quickly. Again dont panic.
You can set boss mod notifications or WA's to let you know the major events. This is also why you keep the adds near the middle because if you cheat towards one side and the circle spawns near where you kite the adds then you may end up snaring them in melee range and soaking will either get you killed by add melee or Karam himself.
Its basically rinse and repeat on execution once you get your timings and feel for the encounter. I probably got lucky on my spawns on the kill. I wasnt even close upto my 8th try and then it sorta just melted in 5-6 mins. I never used Iceblock on the try either. If you lose control enough to have to use it you will end up falling behind on things and just constantly trying to get your rhythm back but ofcourse its not irrecoverable.
For leggos I used bracer and sephuz. Its probably the best combo you can have.So that made it alot easier. After my Agatha misery + Show Spoiler +
(which is easy gg with DB Helm and reasonably difficult without, but not even close to the hardest amongst classes)
I didnt kill Karam the third time. You can and if you do kill him the third time you pretty much win so that is totally viable and maybe safer aswell. Zerging Raist is also when I lusted/iv second pots etc.
Killing Karam x3 is I think how most people do it Depends on your weapon also. II zerged Raest most of the time and dpsed Karam when it was convenient and he sorta just falls because of split ice and the damage you are walking him through stuff.
If you are able to keep Karam in your aoe you will be able to drop him before he goes ham the second time and just work on Raest as much as possible. Third respawn I totally ignored him. At that point his and Raests HP is similar and you should be able to bring Raest down pretty quickly while kiting Karam. But thats my method because I felt I had the dps going it slow and steady is also viable. Also it doesnt matter how much of a speedstack he gets. If you keep him in slows and dont let it drop he wont catch you.
There are probably dozens of videos out there. I did it in the first couple of days so there wasnt much to look at. In terms of strategy. Its probably worth having a look at what people did and try a couple of different strategies and see what you are most comfortable with. There is no one right way to do it.
No that pretty much sounds right from what I've read and watched. I guess I'm not doing a good job of keeping Karam lumped up with the adds / in the blizzard... When dealing with the first 2-3 hands he just starts getting too close to me, much faster than the adds, and as soon as I need to split my energy between getting away from him and burning the Hand down that's when it gets out of control. I'm keeping him slowed at all times, but my positioning of him relative to the adds must be really poor. Not sure.
Her only 2 legendaries are not that useful either. Sephuz sounds nice...
We were already low on healers and now healer officer left for a better guild (although he himself was the weakest of our healers). Can not progress now on a 5/6 healer boss like sisters. And it is just so damn hard for my guild to find players although we are not even doing bad in comparison and it is a really nice guild. It is not like we are being picky, we simply can not find a single healer that wants to do mythic raiding. Idk what's up with that.
Oh well on the upside got lucky with chest today. Got a relic for my weakest spot and went from 942 to 948 weapon. :D
