I think chip kelly is destroying his team. The eagles were a competitive team, I don't understand all these drastic roster changes. I give kelly a year or two and then he's gone. He isn't the hoodie

As for my Eagles, I'm def apprehensive. Dropping Desean (last year), McCoy, and Maclin and picking up a 31 year old RB (will be 32 when season starts). Resigning the Butt Fumble while ignoring Foles (who is obviously going to be trade bait at this point). Overpaying for a second tier cb, cut Cole and letting a stud in Herreman go (this one makes some sense but still). Obviously more is yet to come, especially on draft day, but man this is a reckoning.

I'm still optimistic but holy shit is Kelly putting a target on his back. The "process" better work or he'll get run out of town, if not the NFL.

Redskins still exist too. They'll be in the running for the #1 pick

as good as he is, McCoy was a lot more replaceable than Maclin. Especially when you've got Butt Fumble or Foles throwing it. Gore definitely still has juice left in him and I think the niners did not make nearly enough use of his skills as a receiver the past few years. The iggles will put him in position to do more than just slam it behind the guard for 4 yards each time.

Oh the Browns. Just wow. At this point I feel like they must just be using that team to launder money or something because they definitely aren't trying to build a winning team.

Who knows how much they paid for their new logo lol...?

Hopefully less than the $100k study that told them to draft Bridgewater instead of Manziel that they ignored

I don't think the browns will be THAT bad next year. I mean they will be bad like usual but I'm not sure they will be the bottom feeders

Eh, losing Willis, though it sucks, isn't the end of the world. The tandem of Borland and Bowman, presuming both are healthy, should be fine. Losing Justin Smith is a bigger issue. Maybe guys like Dial and Carradine will continue to step up this year. Maybe Darnell Dockett will be healthy enough to comfortably Smith's shoes. I just wonder, though, because the entire defense was structured around Justin Smith dominating the inside of the line.

Still, the biggest concern with the Niners is the potential shit show that will be the Niner's coaching situation. That's what really scares me.

Completely agree. The niners main problem is their coaching going forward. That and I'm still very dubious about Kaps ability to be lead this offense past mediocre going forward. The eye test last year on him was a big fat f considering the expectations.

At least the Kaep trade is false. How do niners fans feel about Torrey Smith. Seems to be a lot of conflicting opinions about how good he is. I mean I know he's not a world beater at WR but I feel like people are kind of selling him short. I can't see him being more disappointing than what you've had

I think Torrey will be a good compliment to Boldin and Vernon Davis. They sorely needed a person to stretch the field last season and that is exactly what Torrey does. That said, it's hard to see the niners rise to any sense of prominence this coming season with the mini exodus of talent.

Well to be fair, this was a 4-12 team that he turned into a 10 win team because of his coaching. Then they won another 10 wins by subtracting Desean Jackson and adding Butt Fumble. Chip hasn't proven his personnel choices are up in line with his tactical strengths, but at this point I have faith the man knows his shit.

I'd be fine with getting Torrey Smith if the price is right. It's no secret that the Niners' biggest need is a vertical threat, which Torrey Smith is. The larger issue is whether Kaepernick will ever be accurate enough to hit him in stride.

Patriots not picking up Revis' option, making him a free agent.

Lords of the 1 year early rather than 1 year late. That and the "let them loose, hope nobody picks them up and bring them back at a fraction of the price" move.

Or that we don't have the cap space to sign him to what he wants and I'm hearing he wants 3 years 48 million with 40 million GTD. The patriots have no intention of paying $16M a year in the current market for 2015, 2016 and 2017 services. How it's spread makes little difference to me. Make it $16M, $16M and $16M. IMO, Revis is NOT worth $16M to Belichick. It is that simple.
My dream is to tear up your dream.

Revis is still a stud but he's also 30 next season. I'd be hesitant to commit that much $$ long term to a cb since that position relies so much on athleticism. Plus I would think their window closes as soon as brady retires which could be next year.

Losing Willis blows. Borland looked good last year but again he was playing with a ton of talent around him that made his job much easier. Also Bowman is fantastic but we dont know for sure how he will play coming off that knee injury.

But I do agree that as much as Willis is the better individual player, we have no replacement that comes even close to Smith. Dockett is good but there is no one else proven after that no matter how much people talk up guys like Dial, Carradine, etc. 3-4 is only as good as the space eaters up front.

Torey Smith really depends on the deal. If we are paying him like a #1 it is dumb. But the offense is desperate for a fast guy to stretch the field. I just wish he were taller to be more of a RZ threat ( I don't think he sniffs 10 tds again in SF). But as far as the deep ball, that's the one throwing thing Kap is actually good at. He and RW are among the most accurate in the league for deep balls

What talent did Borland have around him last year? The Niners defense was ridiculously depleted, which is why many consider last year to be Fangio's best season as a DC ever given the results he got out of those players. And Borland was a tackling machine. Someone last year called him Zach Thomas 2.0, which I think is dead on.

Smith up and mcDonal up front, Smith and Lynch to the outsides, etc. I am not saying that he has talent, I just think the Niner and fans may be overvaluing him and undervaluing Smith. Smith is a massive massive hole to fill. Docket will help but realistically they really need to replace two linemen.

I really wanna hear Willis' explanation. Maybe mounting injuries and the uncertain future of the team pushed him out. Apparently that toe injury had been an issue for several years now

Doesn't matter. A lot of Torrey Smith's value comes in getting PI penalties. Kaep's throws just need to be close enough for a penalty to be called.

Lol that's so true (having him on fantasy brought special attention to that fact for me). I wonder if that was actually said by someone when they were making the decision (or at least what they were thinking to themselves)?

A couple of notes about what's been discussed (I was at work):

-Too bad about Willis. I remember being super angry when he was picked one before the Bills's choice when he was drafted. Hope he enjoys his retirement.

-The Browns are a train wreck. I have a close friend who worked for them until very recently and he couldn't wait to get out. He said it's an absolute mess. The meddlesome owner thing is real.

-Love what Kelly is doing with Philly. Why is it that people accept that 32 teams do the same thing, all but 1 fail, and then those same people lambast a guy for trying something? He has a plan which is better than a slew of teams.
Who's the bigger scrub, the scrub, or the scrub who loses to him?
