Don't sweat the bye week thing. Your season could be over by then, one could be hurt, lose a role, you could find another guy, etc. You never know.

drafting for bye week is overrated. The only point I might even remotely consider it is when you're filling bench slots but at that point I am more interested in taking high risk high reward players that might surprise and become outright starters vs a one week filler. I could get that off waiver any time.
Depending on your overall scoring (ie. .5 or 1pt ppr?, 6td passing, etc, what positions, etc) and who your keeper was I think you are underrating your team. This team is much better if it's 2WR than 3WR.
I'd be happy with Forte and Hill in a ppr. I also think Ivory is a steal in the 7th and I am mad that I didn't grab him in any of my drafts. He has zero competition and ran well in the same shitty offense while splitting time. Now he's pretty much the unquestioned lead RB. I think 1000yds 8td and 30 catches is realistic. If you have a flex he'll probably start at it.
If your keeper wasn't an elite WR you are gonna be hurting at WR. Tate's really the only reliable player you have. Independently, I think all the WRs you selected are good high risk high reward picks, esp pairing Allen with Rivers.
Tate I think is a solid #2. I think Landry and Allen have a decent shot at being #2s in a 12 man league, but they're at the very worst #3 WRs I think. Landry will be better in a PPR league. The rest of your WRs are guys who might evolve into starting WRs, but will probably be WR4s or so otherwise. While I like your RBs, I don't think they're that good to make up for a ho hum wr group (at least right now).
QB is actually totally fine imo. You can just play match ups with those two and come out fine. TE is ok but the DEF and K are pretty solid.

Here's my team for my 8 man league. PPR with everything else normal except this league likes to do -10 for missed PATs for fun, which should actually be kind of interesting with the kick change this year
+ Show Spoiler +
Darren Waller is my super homer secret clutch rookie sleeper pick I have Dolphins D just for week 1 vs the Redskins because we suck and have Kirk CousINTs playing so maybe I can get some easy points there

Not in love with it, but you have Charles and Brown, so you'll be competitive even if I'm right about the guys I don't like on your squad (Jefferey, Gordon). If I'm wrong, your team is gonna be really good and mine are all gonna suck

Gordon was kind of a panic pick. My league commish made it 30 sec draft rounds for some reason so I'm not too happy with that pick either. Like Hawk said up above I might be ok with slipping Chris Ivory in there or maybe I can find someone else as my Flex. One of my other friends is really high on Latavius Murray for whatever reason so that pick was really sticking in my mind when I was filling out my bench too. Best case scenario Darren Waller becomes the Ravens #1 WR and Flacco throws bombs to him all day as I got the next Calvin/Demaryius coming out of GT

Damn Foster might be back by week 3? Not that I really trust that, but me snagging him in the 7th round mainly because I've always just wanted to say I once drafted Arian Foster might turn out to be a real coup...

I was so mad you got him because he was my next pick then . My two other teams i got him on are strong enough that with him I would have to completely fuck up somehow or get a ton of injuries to miss the playoffs I think.
I don't think that's the strongest team for an 8man, but you'll def be competitive and prob fighting for a playoff spot because you have a few really good players there. Brown is god tier, esp in ppr, esp esp if you have return stats too, and I think Ben/Romo is a great duo to have him tied to. Charles is obviously a rock. Miller isn't what I'd call a lock but I personally really like him this year. He hit 40 catches last year and I think he'll get more time since he looked good.
Your RB are fairly risky esp for such a small league. If they hit their projections you should be fine. But your flex is really weak considering you're an 8 man league with just two WR slots, mostly because your WR depth is bleh.. Your only options there really are Gordon, Ivory, Murray, or Smith. I think they're all ok options, but I think most teams in your league will have a more solid starter there.
I really don't like having Jeffery and Bennett, who are fighting for touches on the same team. Individually I think both will more or less reach their projections. But when pulling from the same team, I generally like to do stuff that compliments each other ie QB+WR, QB+RB, maybe RB+WR in special circumstances. With your pairing, you risk getting shut out like QB/WR pair could on a bad day but you don't get the double point bonus if they do well like you would playing Ben/Brown.
I would try to get out of that situation asap. Jeffrey definitely has more trade value of the two, and keeping Bennet and having him suck would hurt you a lot less because you're deeper there with Allen and TE scores less.. While I think he'll be fine, I think there's more of a chance of him bottoming out than a lot of other WR1 and 2 just because of how bad that team is and I wouldnt be surprised to see Cutler sat. On the flip side, bad also = a lot of targets but he's also gimpy and not the most durable player. I think your RB ranking is Charles, Miller, Gordon, Ivory, and Murray. I think of those last 3 Murray is clearly the largest risk but has a high ceiling.
I would look into packaging him and Jeffery first I think.

Hey look another pats hit piece from esnpnfl. Its really just a bad idea for a journalistic organization to have that close ties with one of the things hey cover, and this is prime evidence why,

That was a well reserached story with more than 90 interviews and documents from the investigation. How is that a hit piece??

That story could only be a hit piece to a Pats homer. I feel for the fans, since they didn't cheat and it's not their fault that their team cheats like crazy, but don't try to defend it.
And that story shits on the NFL just as much as it shits on the Patriots. The fact that they destroyed the bulk of the evidence at the time...just wow. Not surprising at all, but the fact that they let it get out now raises some eyebrows.
|
Exactly. When I think hit piece, I don't think of something where the entity 'benefiting' from it is exposed as being corrupt. This story makes the NFL and Patriots both look bad.
espn and its writers definitely have gone to bat for the NFL before either directly or indirectly but this is defintely not a case of that.

I'm sorry but that well researched story has more holes than the 49ers o-line. First of all the whole their cheating works best against teams like the bills and the dolphins, who had more wins than any other team against the pats in that time frame. It also goes out of its way to make it seem like all filming was banned, when in fact it was only the location that the pats filmed from that was against the rules. Most of its interviews are with teams that the patriots stomped who are claiming that the patriots must have cheated because the pats won and they lost. Its almost like watching film and being very well coached would do the exact same ting as 99% of the cheating that the patriots are accused of. This is a article treating conjecture as fact and it shows.
Claims like teams putting out fake play sheets because the patriots were going to steal them are put in with out any kind of proof or even a named source. If there was proof of any of this shit it would have come out already. This is the most blatant attempt to come up with enough smoke to make everyone believe there is a fire I have ever seen come out of a pulitzer prize winner, and its disappointing as fuck.

Rookie Green Bay WR is retiring amid concussion concerns. Cobb injured, nelson injured, coxson retiring, who is rodgers going to throw to? http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2562627-adrian-coxson-retires-latest-comments-and-reaction?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial
Still dealing with the symptoms of a severe Grade 3 concussion, former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Adrian Coxson announced his retirement from football Monday.
Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reported the news and added what Coxson had to say about his decision:
I'm retiring because I'm still having symptoms and my health is more important to me than the game of football. ... It's been recommended to me by two neurologists and two doctors to retire from football. The next hit to my head could possibly kill me or be life damaging. This last one could be life damaging. It has taken a great toll on me. This concussion was a bad one. A Grade 3 concussion is real serious.
[...] It's definitely tough. ... I worked hard all my life and I felt I was achieving my life-long goal. Unfortunately, I got hit in the head in practice and it was really bad for me. I couldn't describe how bad it is.
Coxson was an undrafted rookie out of Stony Brook and also spoke about his excitement about being on the receiving end of passes from Packers superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Unfortunately, his career was derailed when he suffered a concussion on the third day of Green Bay's training camp.
This development will only draw more attention to player safety issues, particularly with regard to traumatic head injuries. San Francisco 49ers linebacker Chris Borland retired earlier this year at the age of 24 because of such concerns—and his situation wasn't as severe as Coxson's.
The Packers have endured a tough offseason in their receiving corps. In addition to Coxson's abrupt retirement, star wideout Jordy Nelson tore his ACL, and Randall Cobb had a shoulder injury scare of his own during Week 3 of the preseason.
But the focus here is on Coxson's well-being, hoping he can make a full recovery and enjoy a high quality of life after his dream of competing on the gridiron at the highest level was cut short.

Coxson is a nobody. Rodgers is fine. This guy just came out with this because he has nothing else going for him. It's his 2 minutes of fame

Anyone else remember how the seahawks could totally pay all their stars and keep them all? Chancelor is threatening to hold out for the full year unless they pay him star saftey money, and they can't do it for him or all their stars would demand it. This could get interesting.

I never understood why the Hawks picked up Graham when Wilson never throws the football. They could have used Grahams salary to pay for Chancelor. Hawks have overextended themselves.
