my speculation on how this got to this level is that a gang of billionaires perceived Brady was trying to stand up to them.

If Brady really wanted to take a stand all he would have to do is say "I retire" Roger would immediately lift the suspension if Brady agreed to unretire and everything would be back to normal.

I never thought he'd play another down in the NFL. I'm sure everything has taken a huge toll on his body, and I still don't see him playing this season because of it, but he'll still be on the team regardless. The moment when he's announced at the first home game is gonna be magical.
Generally when bad stuff happens to someone, it's always cliche to say stuff about how nice the guy is, how good of a person he is, how life isn't fair, etc. With Eric Berry.. everyone seems to like him. He's done a lot of stuff off the field for fans and chooses not to bring the cameras along with him since he's a pretty shy guy. I feel like for him, the cliches are absolutely true. I've never seen a fan of another team call him a dirty player. The guy is just a freaking hero and is gonna be an inspiration for any kid or adult who sadly has to fight the same problems that he has. This is good news and I hope he's back soon, even if he's just up in the box.

I'm not sure that would work either. Then the NFL and Goodell could just manipulate it to look like "Brady throws tantrum and retires" making it more damning overall. I think he needs to just play it out.
|
That would be the hardest hardball anyone's played from the Cuban missile crisis.
Also roggog is the ass hole this round and is fucking with union shit. Brady can't give over his phone beacuse it would contain union communications. He gave over all requested phone information. He has to go through phones every other month or so for security reasons and they give them to him free for publicity anyway.

I find it absolutely hilarious to see all these Patriot's fans flabbergasted at a system that disregards the "rules" as they know them in order to punish someone for a perceived slight.
The Patriots were cheating (every team is), the balls are very likely not the only way. "Suck it up Susie", and get over it. Seriously...
I personally hope he keeps pushing and Patriot fans can get a taste of what it's really like when "The Man" is out to get you.

There is no proof that the balls were underinflated or that cheating took place in any way other than a text message from a guy who referred to himself as the dorito dink.

You just don't get it do you? It doesn't matter that "there is no proof", it's pointless to keep asserting it. Take the damn wrist slap and move on. Otherwise Goody and Co will find something much worse (maybe not on Tom) and the penalty will be even more harsh.
I do like all the support for unions and collective bargaining that is a byproduct of the defenders of the Patriots though.

Kraft has been one of Goodell's biggest cocksuckers during his term as commissioner. Would be interesting what happens if they have a falling out after this.

I get what you are saying, but I don't believe that someone who is innocent should sit back and take a punishment... It's also not a wrist slap, it's the harshest penalty the league has enforced on a team (even beyond the open and shut case of spygate), which we have to sit back and take regardless because in reality there is no appeal process, PLUS a 4 game suspension on that teams star quarterback and future HOF'er. All based off of, essentially, 1 text message with no context.
You want to give him a 1 game ban for not complying, okay... Maybe I can understand that if you are trying to set a precedent for future investigations. 4? If you agree with that, all I can say is I hope your team is next on his list.

I think it's stupid, I'm just saying asserting your rights against someone more powerful than you usually ends up bad for you. I've been hearing it my whole life, that's why it's so amusing to see people who are generally silent when it happens in far more important aspects of life in a tizzy over this. Not that I'm referring to you specifically. But this is like the most pathetic case to make the
"I don't believe that someone who is innocent should sit back and take a punishment"
case for.

the patriots I 1000% guarantee have made more money off the deflate gate scandal then they've lost during it. if they haven't made more then 20-30 million then I'd be shocked. The speeches back when it all started alone were said to be worth about 2-3 million to Gillette at a time where they were launching a brand new product. Not to mention how much more attention the patriots brand good or bad has gotten. Pats fans are going to become more loyal from this conflict (lawl to call it that) and will spend more on the team.

I think Goodell has absolutely burned that bridge. Kraft pretty clearly was pulling a "wink wink nudge nudge" by swallowing his medicine with the fine and picks docked as long as Brady had his suspension reduced. Goodell didn't budge and Kraft basically said in one of his pressers this week that he lost faith in the league, hinting that such a deal was in place.

Sheldon Richardson of the Jets sounds like he is done for the year after his 2 fast 2 high escapade. significant blow to their D imo

Losing the draft picks will hurt more than losing Brady. They started 2-2 last year because the OL sucked and still won the Superbowl. They could start 2-2 this year without Brady as long as the rest of the team performs.
