it will be interesting to see seattle's fortunes once that contract kicks in. RW is a very good qb, but he's also a qb who has had the success he's had because of the team/system in place. He's not a guy who goes off for 300 yds regularly, but he's quite obviously not a game manager. He was so good because he played off the strengths of the run game and defense, allowing them to capitalize on the few chances a conservaitve offenses get... but he is also good because he did all that while costing under $1m.

Fitting a $20m per year qb who averages like 250 total yards a game into an offense that really doesn't drive through him changes things a lot.

Eh I dont know that it would be wise. You can't just plug any momo in there. RW works because he's like the perfect running team QB. He can run for firsts which any athletic qb can do. But absolutely no one extends the play as good as him (the only one coming close is Big Ben). He's one of the most elusive QBs when he's scrambling looking for the extra second to throw. He makes very good decisions and he's one of the best deep ball guys in the game. I do think in other systems he'd find success, but the things that he is best at is perfectly suited for Seattle's offense.

People love to compare him and Kap but it's not even close. Kap is awful at sensing that pressure, and evading it in the backfield to complete the throw. That's far farrrr more important than being able to run away for 6 yards or the occasional 50yd td.

RW gets some of the same treatment Brady did early on where he wasn't asked to do much because the team around him was good. I'm interested to see how he is viewed 4-5 years from now. If he goes Flacco/Eli or closer to Brady

Wilson's really, really good, and I'd love to have him as my QB, but his greatest value remains that they pay him in beads and trinkets. I fully agree that it's going to be extremely interesting to see if they can hold that team together with his raise, especially considering Graham's huge deal and Bennett's yearly clamors to restructure (though he has no leverage whatsoever).

I can dig it. She's clearly got experience and there's no reason she can't teach schemes and routes. Now technique I'm not so sure about.

Teaching/coaching technique (even when demonstrating) doesn't necessarily require you to be able to do it yourself (at full speed). Understanding and being able to get the player to understand is far more important. As is being able to spot and knowing how to correct a mistake. I've been able to coach a position I never played (LB last year and DL this year) - she's got plenty of experience at her position.

I'm not sure how much NFL training camp and practice you've seen, but based on my admittedly limited experience, the best defensive coaches are literally total assholes who get right in their players faces or are otherwise extremely confrontational. I'm just not sure how a woman is going to do that effectively. We're talking middle/inside LB to boot.

like any sport there are other ways to success as a coach than being a belligerent asshole. it can work but not every coach is a psychopath. I wouldn't worry a ton about that.

that being said shes the first woman coach in the nfl and has zero nfl or meaningful football exp ( the league she came from plays its games at high school stadiums. It's on par with the semi pro teams I share park space with for soccer).

She will have to earn every bit of respect. Players aren't stupid. They know a male who played semi pro ball and had one year of coaching at any level would never even get a sniff of an nfl job, even as an intern.

Wilson doesn't deserve to make the same money as Cam Newton. Wilson is only productive because of beastmode and the hawks defense. Cam gets his team to the playoffs with nothing. The hawks could get to the playoffs without Wilson.

It appears that Bradys 4 game suspension will be upheld

I don't understand why Brady would destroy his phone. It doesn't get rid of the messages and serves only to make him look more guilty. Is it simple arrogance? Spite? I wonder what "new" evidence will pop up in court. What a circus.

Probably nudes of his wife on the phone he didn't want Roger to look at or something. Either way, the NFL cant force someone to hand their phone over. 4th amendment and all that jazz.

It sounds like a panic reaction, but at the same time hes committed to taking the nfl to court where those texts will be brought out by his carrier, so either hes been bluffing (unlikely, his lawyer is supposed to have seen all the evidence), just panicked about something else on the phone (personal info, photos etc, didn't want pictures of his wife on the internet), or thought it out and wanted to make sure only the texts and nothing else shows up, for personal reasons or something else. Any of those could happen, so unless he drops the lawsuit we'll see his reason in court. Assuming its true of course given how it never showed up in the 5 million dollar report.
