healthcare laws only govern healthcare workers. the person who'd get in trouble would be whomever leaked that

It's not like the team wouldn't get this info anyways as part of their due diligence so I'm not sure if the report lost him any money in his contract. I guess he would and probably should win on the whole leaking confidential medical records tho as I am pretty sure there are strict laws about who you can show those to. So, I am being speculative, but here is what I think the lawsuit would do. Step 1: Sue Reporter. Step 2: Suit gives you access to reporter's phone records (via subpoena). Step 3: Deduce Source. Step 4: Bring in hospital/source as defendants. Step 5: Dismiss Reporter. As long as the judge lets it get to step 2 (not guaranteed), and lets JPP get access to phone records, he can screw over a ton of people.

We all know the media can be scummy, but releasing private medical records in a picture on twitter is some seriously low shit, and I hope that Schefter has learned that from the criticism he has received. This time it may not have been anything incredibly sensitive about the patient released, but that's only this time. HIPPA law is there for a reason, and even if he is technically not the person who broke protocol, he was the conduit through which it happened.

a major free agent athlete who is injured under mysterious, possibly criminal circumstances, blocks his own team from so much as seeing him. that's like the defintion of public interest of a major public figure. JPP wouldn't get anywhere by suing Schefter, and ESPN would have a very compelling interest to defend him on top of it being a pretty slamdunk case. schefter talked about it more here http://www.si.com/more-sports/2015/07/12/caitlin-jenner-espnys-espn-adam-schefter-jason-pierre-paul?page=2&devicetype=default ianal but again, i certainly think they wouldn't get far even if they sued schefter to get him to release his source. He and ESPN would almost certainly be covered by loads of precedent on that front. and on top of that, he/espn would fight it tooth and nail because of the implications of him coughing up the source. it seems like it would be a suit that would accomplish almost nothing. HIPPA law is there for a reason, and even if he is technically not the person who broke protocol, he was the conduit through which it happened. Yeah this is an entirely different discussion. Legally Schefter is almost certainly in the clear. It's an issue of freedom of the press and a public figure. All precedents in that field give him a pretty damn airtight case Morally there's certainly argument about whether or not this was kosher or neccessary to given that he does have a pretty solid rep already. And going even further, it certainly doesn't seem like he's thought about the impact this will have on his rep with players who viewed that as him being a lapdog for an owner over the players.

$12 billion spent from 2000 to 2010 in the USA on taxpayer funded stadiums. half the teams in the league threatening to leave for LA if they do not get a new free tax payer funded stadium.

Dal might put up good numbers if the backs can carry the load and adding hardy and lee should help but that has everything to do with time of possession Chiefs deserve consideration if Houston gets signed. .. Speaking of which, the stress is getting to me. Pay him ffs!

Speaking of which, the stress is getting to me. Pay him ffs! There's a guy on the Chiefs board I go to that was apparently right about some things the Chiefs have done (drafting DAT, signing Maclin) and supposedly has some sources inside the organization. He posted on Sunday that the Chiefs and Houston have agreed to a deal but were waiting until after the All-Star game to announce it so as to not take any attention away from the Royals. It sounds really odd, but in the next few days after he posted that, it's been reported that Houston and his agent are in Kansas City (which isn't surprising considering that the deadline is today) and that the Chiefs were very optimistic about it. It sounds too good to be true, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't getting my hopes up.

Almost broke the sack record last year with 22 but hardly got any attention for it. He's not one-dimensional either. He's fantastic against the run and is great when dropping back too. The guy is just an all-around baller.
