I have a hunch the Niners avoided ILBs because they're flipping him into the middle but good fucking lord man.

Hopefully it comes true just for shits and giggles.

Because it was irrelevant to the actual deflating of balls? The Wells report does explain the removal of balls for charity auction (which was the balls that the league official stole) as well as the circumstances relevant for the deflation of the game balls. EDIT: I kinda doubt there will be any (severe) punishment though.

You do realize the patriots were more heavily penalized for taping from the wrong sport than the bronocos were for cheating the salary cap or the saints were for deliberately trying to injure other players right? Just because they keep beating your favorite team doesn't change the facts, just your biases.

My favorite team has actually done pretty well against the Patriots, and I've generally been a Tom Brady fan. But I'm not a fan of him lying about the deflated balls and saying "I've heard everything now" in response to the allegations. The guy has been caught lying and, if Goodell really cares about the integrity of the game as he says, then severe punishments should be coming, like a big suspension for Brady and a huge punishment to the Patriots as a whole. Remember, ignorance is not an excuse. But, I'll be very surprised if these punishments ever come. Oh, and I know all too well about the Broncos cheating their asses off to win two Super Bowls. Didn't really care for a reminder, but thanks anyways I guess.

Well, in civil courts, you would implement 100% of the available penalty. Like, if you said it was more likely than not that a guy caused $100,000 in property damage, he would pay $100,000. In criminal courts it would result in 0% of the penalty, you don't get 2 years for "probably" assaulting someone when the statute has a 5 year sentence. So really, if it was a sane system, the answer would inform us on what Goodell was doing. But it probably will be a made up answer.

Are you sure the paper didn't say, "It is possible that cigarettes probably definitely don't have a connection to cancer"?

Two second round picks and losing your head coach for a season isn't a harsher penalty than one first round pick and fines?
