Zac Stacey not surprising either since he had already lost his starting job if I remember right. Or did he just get hurt last year? Maybe Mett is hoping it's like college where he leaves 1 team after doing nothing and then becomes solid for another. Even though he never won he had some support from internet GMs

I was expecting another QB to really round out the excellent group.

Idk why the Niners love drafting all these fucking tweener guys for their 3-4. All their DL is basically like 6'1 -6'2 and 290. I think they'd look a lot better with a massive ass space eater in the middle. At least at 6'7 I'm sure he can put on the weight if necessary.

The consensus on Armstead seems to be that he falls into the run stuffer and "raw (maybe lazy) physical freak" categories (maybe a better version of Ray MacDonald). Tons of talent, but he just hasn't put it together yet. I'm not very high on the pick, but if any team can coach him up, it would be the Niners.

Coleman's injury history is bothersome (especially feet), and Abdullah's fumble issues are a bit overblown. He was absolutely horrible his freshman and sophomore years, but he reduced it dramatically his junior and senior years and had a lower fumble rate than Coleman. On top of that, the Lions seem to be seeking high character players lately, and he's probably tops.

Pretty pleased with the direction the Lions took in terms of positions (I think their supposed need on DL is overblown). Anyone have thoughts on their 3rd rounder Alex Carter (CB Stanford) and what they traded? (just woke up and haven't gotten around to reading everything) EDIT: seems like the Lions are placing on emphasis on smart (academic) players this year
