Their decision to not prioritize CBs and ILB's is just mindboggling. I don't know how any Niners fan can be happy with this draft. There's only two possible emotions:
1) Maybe this will all work out in the end; and
2) JESUS FUCKING CHRIST THIS ORGANIZATION HAS A SET WORLD RECORD FOR GOING DOWN THE SHITTER!

I'm obviously biased being a gt fan but I think smelter is a great pick. Very physical receiver, huge hands, fast. Made a ton of clutch catches for us at gt. better hands than anyone at gt since Calvin. I think we could have beaten fsu if he wasn't hurt. Obviously has subpar route running do to coming out of the triple option but he did more than demaryius run in a straight line Thomas did at GT and he was able to pick it up. I think he was worth more than a 4th easily without his injury and GT sources have made it sound like his rehab is going well. Some considered him the best blocking receiver in the draft. Some comments about occasional body catches like Vernon Davis worries some people but I think that has more to do with our shitty passing than him.

hype train is a rolling and Madden has had a history of putting 'one hit wonder' players on the cover: Young, Hillis, to an extent Vick and Alexander also.
most likely to fail if on the cover: Patrick Peterson
losing Todd Bowles and Cromartie doesn't bode well and Peterson is generally boom/bust. he has games with multiple picks, followed by games where he gets burned a few times.

Patriots players never go on big game covers because they decline if offered. . Brady did appear on the back yard football cover once. I suspect that he'll take his 4 rings over Vince Youngs madden cover.
