http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/2014/01/24/hockey_analytics_is_don_cherry_right_about_stat_padders.html "Equally surprising was Crosby’s low ranking (43.6 per cent). Admittedly this is a small sample because of injuries, but of his 55 goals during this period, 32 came in 2010-2011, in which only 37.5 per cent were scored against playoff teams." in their analytics system, i wonder what this goal is worth?

Speaking of value, I'm so glad that the Sharks kept Pavelski instead of trading him away at some point. That guy has been scoring goals at a ridiculous pace over the past 20 games or so.

A shit team like the Oilers would have to give those guys 10 year extensions in order to convince them to stay. Those are great contracts for the team/players. We tried that with Chris Pronger and Sheldon Surray. Turns out that doesn't work either. No one wants to play here

SJ, Vancouver, the Florida teams are probably the best and Nashville is the best in terms of how far your dollar goes and how little hassle you get when you are about town. If Edmonton was competitive year in and year out we'd be able to sign UFA's alot easier. Its not really all that cold in our winters here. Yeah it gets to -40 but that's usually only for a few days once or twice a year. Our summers are just as nice, or nicer then what LA has, minus the beaches. Edmonton shopping is world class at West Edmonton Mall and our clubs bring in the best DJ on earth alot. But we suck and have a culture of losing and failure now so no one wants to come here except local guys looking to be near their families and players who need to showcase themselves for a future in the league.
