I think it might be the other way around. In my opinion, Buffalo will trade Miller unless the return is terrible. It seems pretty clear that he interested in testing out free agency and allowing Miller to walk as Murray's first act as GM would be looked at pretty unfavorably.

Ignoring the fact that Miller has a limited no trade clause, even if he did waive the clause, they would need to be willing to offer an insane contract for the trade to last more than two months. I think you're overestimating his value here. Some of those players that you listed are worth more than Miller straight up.
Lamp's not even back one day and he's bringing up shit that got him the two day temp ban. Dude it's the nhl thread, keep the Olympic stuff outta here. No one in this thread cares about your conspiracy theories on temperature levels of the venues.
Out of respect for my teammates I think that's all I'm going to say about that," St. Louis continued. "I'm not going to get into answering this question every day."

I cant believe this tool is trying to trade the heart and soul of his team. What does he think is going to happen in the playoffs when Stamkos gets doubled team? Who is his secondary scoring support? http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=444715
TBL is good, but they're more of a fringe playoff team that would really surprise people if they won a cup. They're not complete contenders like the Penguins, Ducks, Hawks, Bruins, Kings. They're great, but if they win it's going to feel like an upset.
St Louis is almost 40. He's an amazing player and is probably going to end up at a ppg until he retires, but the thing is, he's going to retire in under 4 years. If you let a player retire on your team, you lose the chance to trade him for a longer upside. If you can grab someone's late 1st round or early 2nd round pick for St Louis, you get another pick, and the other team gets a sick player that can help strengthen their playoff run. Or if you can get a first rounder that will grow up in 4 years to be a perfect fit for Stamkos while he rides out his prime.

Unhappy with Yzerman for keeping him of the Olympic team and not doing enough to turn TB around? No, impossible! Oh hey I missed the last 10 days of the Olympics, how did your boys Malkin and Ovie do, score 10 goals each did they? They are the Vancouver Canucks of individual players, the greatest guys ever assembled ever.

That has been true for a while and St Louis has been fine in TB, in his role as a transition mentor type guy. Until this year for some reason. And if Bob McKenzy is right and the only place St Louis wants to go is NYR then so much for that bounty of picks. Enjoy Ryan Callahan and a mid range 1st rounder...

"I can't believe that idiot Yzerman is trying to get rid of Stamkos. Here's a link to an article in which it says that Stamkos may be unhappy and seeking a trade. Oh wait, Stamkos may be unhappy and seeking a trade, so he's actually not trying to get rid of him? Never mind then, it's just because that idiot Yzerman can't turn Tampa Bay around." When Yzerman became GM of Tampa Bay, they were one of the bottom teams in the east. Now they're ranked 3rd. I'd say that's doing a pretty good job of turning the team around.
I love how you keep blathering on about Malkin and Ovechkin's poor performances in a an extremely small sample of games. It's like you're actually so clueless that you think that not doing well in a few olympic games completely negates years of playoff dominance.
Malkin has 97 points in 83 playoff games Malkin has over a point per game in every single playoff year Malkin has won a Conn Smythe and a Stanley Cup Malkin does not play on a line with Crosby for the vast majority of his even strength TOI 2009 Stanley Cup Finals: Crosby is injured and not as effective against Detroit, getting just 3 points. Pittsburgh is only able to score 14 goals in the 7 game series. Malkin gets 8 points, meaning he was in on over half of the team's points. Wow, what a terrible playoff performer.
Ovechkin in the 2008 playoffs vs Philadelphia: 4 goals and 9 points in 7 games. He gets a goal and an assist in their 3-2 game 7 loss against Philadelphia. Ovechkin in the 2009 playoffs vs Pittsburgh: 8 goals and 14 points in 7 games, doubling his points in round 1 against NYR. He gets one of the team's two goals in their 6-2 game 7 loss. In order to win this game, he would have needed to get 6 points. Ovechkin in the 2010 playoffs vs Montreal: 5 goals and 10 points in 7 games. In game 7, he gets an assist on the team's only goal in a 2-1 loss. Ovechkin in the 2011 playoffs vs Tampa Bay: 2 goals and 4 points in 4 games. In that round, Backstrom gets 1 point, Semin gets 2 points and Mike Green gets 1 point. Ovechkin is the only one amongst Washington's star players to get a point in their eliminating loss.
Apparently MSL saying he wants out and will only accept a trade to NYR...
What a dink. Not only does he bend his GM over a table, he forces himself to be traded to a team he the lightning could matchup with in the first round of the playoffs.
Some kind of Captain... If this is true I've lost all respect for MSL. I hope Tampa forces him to retire. What a joke.

Ohhhhh I was under the impression he had 2 years left. Oops lol guess I should have looked.
Buffalo is still probably gonna hold out for the last possible minutes to trade him unless they get a good return
Phil Esposito is PISSED OFF about St. Louis trade rumours.
you tell'em Phil!
its time for Larry Brooks to put on the shin pads , skates and gloves...we'll bring Phil out of retirement.. and these guys can settle it like men on the ice... we'll get Leon Stickle out of retirement and he can separate them after Phil rag dolls "brooksie".
My desire to watch Oilers hockey has be snubbed by the Olympics. It hurts my eyes to watch the defense of Edmonton after see Canada smother everyone en-route to gold.

And our only good player all night, Yakupov, left the rink in a cast.

I love being an Oilers fan.
I think us Oilers fan are sadists. We like the pain and torture this awful management team stuff in our face year in and year out. We love the agony of failure and just like a crack addict seek the next high of a great game or two in a row just to suffer the inevitable crash afterwards

i basically agree with you. however, there was not much "smothering". there was nothing to "smother" because canada held the puck a lot.
its a great way to play defense. hold the puck all the time. daniel sedin can't score or set up a scoring play if he is skating around in circles looking for he puck.
Team Canada put on a clinic. No team in the NHL era of the Olympics dominated an event like Canada did in 2014. Well maybe the 2004 World Cup.

It was pretty painful to watch. So many things that can just be corrected. An obsession with taking the body when you can just stick check a guy, completely unnecessary penalties. And Grossmann and Meszaros are really just terrible.
The Sharks are going to be so good once Hertl is back. The bottom pair can be iffy at times, but they have very few weaknesses.
