Red Wings youth is playing well, Samuelson is sitting in the press box in Grand Rapids and Cleary's TOI is shrinking into near single digit minutes. If only somehow someone could have predicted that throwing almost 8 million dollars at two elderly cripples with no game sense and keeping a bunch of young talent that clearly is over-ripe for the AHL down there was a dumb ass move. But I guess Ken Holland can always get veterans to sign in Detroit now "We will sacrifice money and player development so your last year in the NHL is a lucrative one!"

Edmonton fans, how mad are you that once your team mathematically eliminate itself from the playoffs it suddenly starts playing decent to well? Its like they are spitting in your face with their play in October and November, then in February and March they dump garbage all over your car.

I think it has more to do with teams giving us there untested/rusty back up goalies this time of year since games vs Edmonton aren't worth risking an injury to the main guy

I'm actually really happy about it and hope they can keep it up. I just want them to win some games - and not for me or the other fans as I don't think that being a 'fan' of anything means you are owed anything in particular. Thing is that I really like the people on this team and I feel legitimately bad for them, what with having to play in a fishbowl like Edmonton and under a historically incompetent management team. I want them to have some success for their own sake so that they can start having a little bit of confidence and stop hating life so much. And before the "don't feel bad for millionaires" argument comes in, everyone in the NHL is pretty much a millionaire, but not all of them have to play for Edmonton. That's all.

Sam Gagner. Ales Hemsky. Vanek. Moulsen, Probably someone from FLA.

I just realized something terrifying. Chris Osgood is hall eligible this summer.

Him getting anywhere near it will be so stupid. It will be almost as much of a crime as that bald headed swedish goofball Sundin getting in on his first try despite never leading the league in scoring, having any individual awards, or ever being close to the top player at his position. Meanwhile, dudes like Bure and Lindros, who had several seasons being the best or close to it at their position/the whole league, have to wait.

One of the very few perks of playing in Toronto! If Sundin played in, say, St. Louis, he'd be waiting a long time.

So looks like Zetterberg is out for maybe the whole season. Datsyuk is playing injured and we'll see how he lasts when he has to play a real team. If he goes down in the depth chart the Wings have mighty mighty Stephen Weiss. Which would make them sellers at the trade deadline. Is anyone going to be dumb enough to take Quincey off their hands? Or maybe even Franzen?
