Kesler definitely did not request a trade.
|
it was reported as such, and then denied. that happens all the time with these situations. worth at least a mention in the thread.
from a pragmatic standpoint, he's almost certainly atop the list of canucks to be shipped out seeing as the team is all but out, and about to start a rebuild. he's a skilled 2 way forward who is 29, on a good contract but probably has a limited shelf life due to his style of play. if he didnt ask, i would be surprised if the team didnt ask him.

Who could afford and want Erhoff. I'd love him in Detroit if Buffalo ate like, half his salary and then ate Quincey but that is some Mike Kenan level idiocy. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=444876

from nj.com:
Scheduled to attend Thursday night's Devils-Columbus Blue Jackets game are two members of the Chicago Blackhawks' front office, director of player personnel Pierre Gauthier and pro scout Dennis Bonvie. Also due to show up is Minnesota Wild assistant general manager Jim Mill.
Interestingly, it just so happens that the Wild and Blackhawks are two teams supposedly interested in working a deal with the Devils for goalie legend Martin Brodeur before the NHL's March 5 trade deadline.

That seems like a pretty bizarre move. You have a youngish goalie with whom you just won the Stanley Cup, then next season you try to acquire a goalie who's about to retire?

Miller scratched from today's game despite being scheduled to start by his coach. Who bought him? Pens? St Louis?
|
The only thing I could think of is to give Raanta full time starting gig in the A.
Minny, I guess since Backstrom is hurting and Harding has MS.
alsooooooooooo, miller and ott were late scratches in buffalo. Rumor is STL would get Miller, OTT would get Chris Stewart, BUF would get prospects from OTT. If Ott (the player) included to STL, 1st rder to BUF
|
damn that seems so cheap. Chris Stewart worth of picks? Surprised that Minny didnt jump on this, although I guess Miller would veto that shit. I cant believe the Pens are going into the playoffs once again the Fluery.
|
confirmed: Ryan Miller and Steve Ott have been traded to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Jaroslav Halak, Chris Stewart, William Carrier, a first-round draft pick in 2015 and a third-round draft pick in 2016.
|
I hope St.Louis wins the cup this year. About time they won something.

I wonder why they got Steve Ott...I guess he was pretty decent in Dallas as a second/third line center.

Every year I hope that Vancouver is going to get Steve Ott.

That's a helluva a haul for Buffalo. With their bazillion draft picks, they should be pretty damned good in a few years. Or could they turn into the Oilers Mk 2.

Nah, they could never turn into Edmonton 2.0. I think there GM is smart enough to acquire the parts he needs to make a good team. Lowe has needed blueline help for years and all he got was Ferrance.

I wonder if they will keep Halak and Stewart or flip them onward. Stewart doesnt have anyone to play with in Buffalo this year and Halak is a FA and if I were him why sign there? It will take a couple of years of 40+ shots per game before the Sabers are back at it

A 3rd liner that's 4.15 million a year, a decent goalie who may or may not stick around, a mediocre prospect, a pick in the late 20's and a 3rd round pick. Unless Chris Stewart recovers his 2010 form, they didn't really get a whole lot.
