Did Mist of Pandaria beta testers get anything exclusive? No, because that would be outrageously unfair to the several million WoW players that couldn't get in. Because this isn't a serious game, I care a little less than I did for HotS, but it's still not fair. How is this super unfair. People who spend real life money during Beta will not have that money vanish when the game gos live and instead will get the same about of stuff they bought. There is 0 advantage here over non-beta players. The part about reimbursing money spent in beta is 100% fair because it's equivalent to giving out free cards in beta, wiping everything as usual when beta ends, and spending the money that would have been spent in beta on the first day of launch. What's unfair is a "special gift" (what this gift is hasn't been announced) that is in addition to getting your decks reimbursed. so getting something that is unknown is totaly unfair? when it could just aswell be something with no effect on the game at all? Right yeah Super Unfair. Yes. If it's so insignificant why doesn't everyone get it? Beta testers aren't special. This isn't been given to people who have given useful beta feedback or demonstrated amazing skill, it's been given to all beta testers who deserve nothing in general. Are you new to betas or something? There's always a bonus, why would you otherwise waste your time betatesting a game when your progress will get wiped out?
Your progress is the game's progress from the beta. In other words, what you put in makes the game better when you play the 'vanilla' version.

The whole reason for this is blizzard wanted to make a game you can play on an iPad.

According to the FAQ there's a special gift for beta testers. http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/faq/#q8aI've made the same argument for the HotS portraits, but this is completely unfair. Why does this always piss you off so much? I remember your HOTS post where you just about lost it because of the in-game achievements for beta testers that played all three races to level 30....(yes it was later changed to 5 because of a blizzard error...heading that off before the response). Why does it make you so mad? I'm really trying to understand. Did you not get picked for any of the beta's? If I could I'd just give you my HOTS beta achievements I would because its not that big of a deal and they say beta level 30 so it doesn't even count towards the real game.
If this kind of stuff is so upsetting to you I can't imagine how angry you get at slightly unfair things that happen in real life. Which pretty much is all the time. My suggestion is just to relax and take it easy...earn the achievements and then brag about how you did it for real, unlike all those lucky beta peeps. If you take these little unfair things in life and look at it like a challenge and an opportunity to accomplish something than you'll do really well in life. If you just get angry and jealous any time someone gets something that you don't you're really gonna have a miserable life.
Cheer up and go out and rock life...you're too good for petty jealousy.

I believe this as well- first foray into an exploding new marketplace. It's not a game I give a fuck about, and I'm still super let down, but it's a smart business decision.

Your mistake is assuming that this art style only appeal to 5 year olds just because you don't like it.

Not what I expected ill try it out since it will be free to play. That trailer was cute lol.

This has a lot of potential to make a ton of money. Not from me though.

I was really excited until I saw they were only making for pc / mac and eventually ipad. No android love

Sweet. I've been gobbling up TCGs for mobile developed by Playdek, Summoner Wars, Ascension, Nightfall, etc. I think it's a great medium for TCG. I hope it brings the fledgling mobile TCG community something to get excited about!

I really love this project tbh
Can't wait to play it and I signed for beta too

Blizzard all-stars would be cool. But the scene already has Dota and LoL , I wonder how blizzard would actually make it popular

So the more you spend the more likely you are to get the best cards.
Free to pay for $1 and pay to win.
You're not too familiar with how CCG's work, are you.

So they didnt mention to play against a friend. But I hope that's just something I missed / they thought it wasnt worth mentioning.
They also didnt mention trading cards with other players. Which seems - interesting.

I didn't have high expectations as some people so its actually not a disappointment at all for me. In fact yea, I like it the idea. It looks very well done, its free to play and I was just playing some MTGO where I spend quite a bit too much on and so yea blizzard might just win me over with this, we'll have to see how it plays.

So that is/was the announcement... I'll see you guys in the Civ V thread.

after watching the video about it i have to say i kinda like it, but then again i played the wow tcg and i enjoyed that too, i do not have high hopes for it keeping my attention but it looks like a nice little game to pass the time with ocasionaly.....i saw a lot of forums that are up in flames about it not being some AAA title but i don't understand why all the hate

Looking forward to it.
Unless most of the butthurts, I didn't hype this out of the universe. It was a PAX annoucement from Blizzard, whom have their own convection just for themselves around the corner. So of course it wouldn't be anything huge or massive worth all the hype, it's a silly neat fun game they've developt on the side.
I can't wait ^^

Never been into TCGs, but if I ever started now it would be from this title. Looks like an interesting and well done title from Blizzard, albeit a genre I'm not really into. Respect.
