Way to simultaneously miss the point and be hypocritical. /golfclap
What point did I miss? Blizzard is making an easily accessible, free-to-play game. They even said themselves that it's out of their comfort zone since Hearthstone won't be on as big of a scale as their other games. So, it's a smaller, more casual game. People were expecting a big announcement. They didn't get that, so everyone gets all rage-y and whiny.
If you don't like the game, then fine. Don't like it. That's cool. If you do like the game, then cool. Go enjoy it.
I personally think the game looks like a ton of fun. And I'll be excited for it's release.

They have amazing design ideas, an intuitive yet hardcore skill- and itemsystem and gritty, dark graphics. Yet it lacks in one regard: the gameplay is more than boring, clunky, spammy, it plain sucks. It's as antediluvian as Diablo 2, without the fluidity and "oomph"-factor. I agree almost completely with you.
PoE is the complete opposite of D3, all of D3's weaknesses are fixed in PoE and all of D3's strengths(mainly engine-wise) are missing in PoE.
I don't know what to think about this Hearthstone, lol. It might be fun, has been quite a few years since I last played the greatest card game ~ MTG.

Because this isn't a serious game, I care a little less than I did for HotS, but it's still not fair.
How is this super unfair. People who spend real life money during Beta will not have that money vanish when the game gos live and instead will get the same about of stuff they bought. There is 0 advantage here over non-beta players.

this is going to make them a lot of money

You can like cardgames or not. But a new blizzard game deserves a better OP on TL than the current one.

What's unfair is a "special gift" (what this gift is hasn't been announced) that is in addition to getting your decks reimbursed.

saw this on reddit..a good point that I definitely realized once they announced WoW (tho it was probably more mmos than EQ, such as ultima online)
They're making the game they (as in Blizzard) want to play.
Warcraft 1/2/3 -> Playing D&D/Warhammer WoW -> Playing Everquest Starcraft -> Playing Warhammer 40k WoW TCG -> Magic the Gathering
And now we have the online version.
The pattern here is that Blizzard makes games based on geek culture that inspires them. Say what you will about them "selling out", but most of the C-Level team at Blizzard could probably kick your ass at Magic the Gathering.

Right
yeah
Super Unfair.

There will probably be a new OP just for discussing the game itself. This thread is indicative of how the community feels about the announcement, which is accurate. Many of us feel the exact same way as the OP- hugely disappointed.
I hope Riot or someone announces something interesting!

We've been working on a little something, different from our other games, and we're pleased to invite you to be the first to see it. It's not a sequel, expansion, or that rumored next-gen MMO, but it's something we're excited for you to get your hands on.
Enough with the "disappointment". Blizzard has created "a little something" just like they said they would. OP should delete his complaints.
For a small f2p game, this could be fun. We don't know yet.

The intro video gave me a big April Fools vibe, not sure about this TCG thing...

I'm actually pretty excited for this, I might even be playing it. I love TCG games, minus the "expensive" aspect of it :D

Think of this as another Rock and Roll racing. Just something minor compared to their other titles but quaint and fun.
