Just ignore that Sanders has been a senator for decades and Trump is the rich man who has been trying to buy off politicians for decades. He IS the money in politics that Sanders supporters have been trying to fight. It's not genuine, but it's expected. If Sanders had the votes to win, Trump would still be trying to drive a wedge between the two, but would be courting Clinton supporters instead. I find it funny that Republicans would rather choose between Clinton and a former supporter of hers than give Bernie a chance (to presumably do no harm since no one would work with him). They are still trying to repeal the ACA, in what universe would they ever want Bernie in charge? With the narrative they have led for over a decade you think they would ever for even a moment consider putting a socialist/communist in the white house? They would sooner pick Kim Jong-un If everyone has been right about what a Sanders presidency would actually look like, it would be the best harm reduction strategy for Republicans regardless of how much they disagree on policy. If they genuinely think Trump has no chance, then a Bernie presidency and congressional gridlock is the best they can hope for. If people are right about Hillary's ability to sway/leverage Republicans and work the system, than she would do much more damage than Bernie would with no Republican or Democratic support. Have we been following the same election? GOP "harm reduction strategy"? good joke. (not really)

I don't think the current slot will still be open come next January unless the GOP can finagle a commitment from Trump to pick someone they like. He's clearly not a strict constructionist or much of a social conservative (and also doesn't seem to check much of his work when it comes to researching individuals), and I don't think they can guarantee they'll end up with someone better than Garland from a Trump presidency and could end up with someone much worse.
Maybe they're not organized enough to make that decision or I'm just reading the tea leaves wrong, though.

Trump can nominate his sister.

Looking back to when the Republican presidential primary kicked off in earnest last year, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said that he never expected Donald Trump to become the presumptive nominee but suggested that the billionaire businessman’s success is probably good for the party.
“You know what, I think something different and something new is probably good for our party,” Priebus said Wednesday on CNN, a day after he tweeted that Trump will be the presumptive nominee and called for unity against Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton. “Look, I don’t think anyone predicted what happened. So, look, we’re here. We’re going to get behind the presumptive nominee.”
Trump’s decisive victory in Indiana on Tuesday effectively ended Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign, knocking out the candidate best positioned to stop him from claiming the nomination at a contested convention if he fell short of accruing a majority of delegates before July.
Cruz’s decision to bow out of the race was “very gracious,” Priebus said. “I was surprised, and it’s a hard thing to do. I mean, he ran a very, very serious operation. Just an incredible ground game. His delegate operation was unbelievable, and I was surprised. But now, you know, you’d have to say that it’s pretty obvious that Donald Trump is going to get to 1,237. But he’s got to do it, though.”

One in six employers of domestic workers fails to pay the minimum wage in California, according to unprecedented research on workers who are often left behind when cities and states reform labor laws and raise wages.
In the first study of its kind on an industry that typically avoids scrutiny, researchers with the University of California Los Angeles Labor Center found that out of two million domestic employers in the state – those who hire people for house cleaning, home care support and childcare – roughly 17% violate the minimum wage law.
That means as many as 340,000 workers could be making below minimum wage, according to the report published Wednesday, which was shared exclusively with the Guardian and marks the first comprehensive survey of domestic work employers in the state.
“It’s an industry and a workforce that was historically left out of labor protections and labor policy,” said Saba Waheed, research director of the UCLA Labor Center and co-author of the study. “Socially and culturally, it’s a type of work that isn’t always valued.”
Although previous research has analyzed the experiences of domestic workers, the report – titled Profile, Practices, and Needs of California’s Domestic Work Employers – is the first large-scale survey of the people who hire these workers, with findings based on responses from a randomly selected pool of 501 people.
The report, which found that 16% of all households in California hire domestic workers in their homes, comes as cities and states across the country are moving to increase their minimum wages and provide mandatory sick days and parental leave.

isn't he just using the onions satire to make a point about what people have been saying in here for months? I think that's why nobody called him out on it lol

Yeah I don't think Testie was trying to make a point, just using it in a "the_donald" (the far and away best subreddit ever made) sort of way.

Best Subreddit. An award you put right next to Best Dumpster Fire. And r/corgies is the best subreddit. Simple, to the point, as advertised.

You hope that 40%+ of Democratic voters leave so that Trump can run the country and nominate Supreme Court justices?
I won't do you the disservice of assuming you mean what you wrote.

Looks like Kasich is going to suspend his campaign as well this afternoon.

His sister is not really distinct from Garland as a judge as far as I know. Just slightly less famous and maybe a bit more conservative. Nowhere near what the GOP would appoint themselves.

I didn't delve into it that deeply. I did get the same impression as you that she is qualified and more centrist than what Lucifer would have appointed if he managed to beat Trump.

So with Trump being the most vetted presidential candidate in history how does the Clinton campaign approach him? Literally everything has been thrown at him, people got so desperate that they resorted to using his great great grandfather (allegedly) changing his surname as a slur. Thats how desperate they got.
Every negative thing about him has been exposed and thoroughly talked about to oblivion and he has just gotten stronger and stronger. There will be nothing new and shocking, every negative thing has already been said and people have become numb to it.
Also he hasn't even started going after Hilary, and she barely held off Sanders. Hilary is basically the definition of 'skeletons in the closet'... there quite literally could be dead bodies in her closet and I wouldn't be surprised.
