I bet some wish it'd been contracted out to a Halliburton-esque company that made the error. That would've seen six months to a year of play dogging GOP candidates about poor environmental standards and what they were going to do to prevent the next poisoned river.

Ann Coulter would be a REALLY funny secretary of state. I always wondered how Sarah Palin got elected into a major public office. Even if being a wholesome family values christian is somehow a requirement to get elected in Alaska she can't possibly be one of the best and brightest within those limits. When she was picked up to run for vice president I was pretty much on top of her media appearances and I have never seen any video where she came off well.

And the 76,000 released criminal illegal immigrants with zero citation was a good laugh. I read somewhere that most of the grants they are talking about cancelling are used for paying for police salaries. Pretty funny when you think about it.

Besides being a super-religious, super-conservative woman, she ran on the platform that she was just like everyone else, a normal old American minivan-driving soccer mom. The problem, of course, is that many people don't want a soccer mom to be vice president. Relatibility is nice, but I want the leaders of my country to be smarter than me or some random housewife/ househusband.

They generally just mention goals and what they want to address. At least Trump says basically "I'm going to use my business experience to make this stuff happen" which is more than what Hillary or even Bernie will say which is basically that they don't have any particular idea of how they are going to get what they want to get done done if they are elected. I do pay attention to the other people running, thank you very much, and your assertions are false. Trump simply is not on the same level as Clinton and Sanders in terms of substance and policy plans & proposals.

What incentive do you see Trump as having at this point?

Vice President Joe Biden, who has long been considering a presidential bid, is increasingly leaning toward entering the race if it is still possible he can knit together a competitive campaign at this late date, people familiar with the matter said. WSJMr. Biden still could opt to sit out the 2016 race, and he is weighing multiple political, financial and family considerations before making a final decision. But conversations about the possibility were a prominent feature of an August stay in South Carolina and his home in Delaware last week, these people said. A surprise weekend trip to Washington to meet with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.), a darling of the party’s liberal wing, represented a pivot from potential to likely candidate, one Biden supporter said. “The vice president has not made a decision about his political future,” Biden spokeswoman Kendra Barkoff said. “Anyone speculating that he has made a decision is wrong.” Mr. Biden would enter as a clear underdog. Polling shows Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton running far ahead of the vice president, who would be building a campaign team largely from scratch. Mrs. Clinton, who declared her candidacy four months ago, has a robust campaign operation and an outside super PAC raising money on her behalf.

No way a private company gets away with the delay, and casting this as Oops Ma, I let a 3 million gallons into a stream (but don't worry, it was really this other bunch that created the potential). Night and day. The usual types saying the shit don't stink when the govt does it. I bet some wish it'd been contracted out to a Halliburton-esque company that made the error. Yeah, well, it sucks and someone fucked up, but what's the alternative here? There are tons of toxic waste sites spread out across America that the EPA is maintaining and monitoring. Who else is going to do that, other than a government agency? The EPA does a really good job of it, too, for the most part, there are thousands of these sites but you rarely ever hear about them (this show the general success of the program). My guess is that this was a "superfund" site, which is overall a good program. Also, it's important to note that the fund that the EPA has to deal with these sites has been repeatedly gutted by Congress in the recent past. Agencies tend to perform worse when faced with drastic budget cuts.
