After some trys, i finally finished insane mode and did over 1.5kk dmg on the boss, losing only 3 lives (2 at rerunner, 1 air at lvl 24) - i play wihtout zones.

here you see my final towers without rocks:

The great ruby was my last gem, therefore i didnt have it to finish insane, neither any other great xy.
The only 1 shot was the malachite @ lvl 2

Tricks:
You need a great maze obviously and tons of splash towers.
Thats why the following towers are even more great in insane:
Blood Stone, Blood Ruby, Uranium (the best tower, since its great vs air as well), Yellow Sapphire (needed!), Paraiba.
Pink Diamond and Enhanced Emerald is not recommended - at least not to finish the game.
Since air is hard, a 2nd red facet can be needed, depending on your situation.
Futhermore, you need a DMG tower at rerunner level 30, without it, you might lose up to 6 lifes (at least lucky china jade, paraiba or gold is much better though).
Last one: before getting a yellow star stapphire, i manually slowed down creeps (especially air) with my usual sapphires

Another note: i hotkeyed all my splash-towers to manually attack groups of units from lvl 31 on. Thats very imporant if it gets close - and at the colossi level (lvl 41) i wouldve been dead without doing it probably.


Time to kill the boss! To do that, you need to take more risks in succeeding i feel. Means: you have to get more pink diamonds and emeralds without dying - or a bit more luck.

Its no problem to reach the boss if you don't intend to kill it, even on insane...
You should get the 7th WP in your maze to make ground waves go in and out one more time.
To kill the boss, you need to survive with less Tier one towers and properly only one antiairtower (cause this doesn't damage end boss).
Black Opal, Perfect/great Opal, Para... and gold are essential for auras, diamonds and Emeralds deal the damage. One perfect/great sapphire is needed to of codurse, this is actually better against boss than splash slow tower...

I tend to rush to the gem chance level where i first get perfect 10%, you don't have to use lucky chance then, cause there are enough rounds to find all your gems still. I try to do some Jade then, which pay for them very fast with groundwaves taking very long to take out (not very much splash, but around 2k pathlenght). IN the end just focussing all these Tier 3 gems in one area where they cover a lot of the path and where creeps have to run 8 times by, its just luck if you get all the essential auras and how many pink diamonds you manage to get.

And you have to survive to that point of course....



Does anyone else get the bug that creeps run directly for the middle after being stunned?

its not possible to make a 4 mazepoint maze anymore dude, thats why its much harder now...
