Since this whole topic degenerated into the usual balance flamefest where every topic ends up if unmoderated it's time for it to clean up. Locking this down for a while. I feel that with the BFH upgrade nerf, Blizzard manages to remove yet another interesting strategy/timing from the game. They did the same thing to the Reaper, to the Khaydarin Amulet Templars, and they removed Flux Vanes from Void Rays (the last one is not that significant, but i'm not a fan of removing content from games). What i would suggest is make BFH upgrade +6, instead of +5, thus giving BFH's a total of 20 damage vs light units, still being able to 2 shot drones and probes, since this is the whole point people research the upgrade, to do some worker damage. But if they do exact 20 damage, probes and drones have a chance to regenerate 1 point while trying to dodge the hellions, and thus might require 3 shots if the terran is not quick enough to kill them. It would also mean that BFH's now require 3 shots to kill SCV's, which is a good thing and probably the best change to BFH upgrade nerf, as it was kinda ruining TvT. And about the +5 sec on Barracks, i don't think they even considered the ramifications it has on delayed Orbital Command. If they want to nerf 2 rax pressure against zerg a bit, just give Bunker another +5 sec build time. I'm guessing they thought of this also, but they don't want to feel like idiots for nerfing Bunkers for like the 6th time. | ||

I like the Protoss and Zerg changes. Seems Blizzard has dropped any pretenses of the Immortal being a good 'tanking' unit and buffed the dps aspect of the unit. The mothership hasn't been looked at much very recently so this might be interesting. More 'Special Tactics' love. Terran and Zerg should be happy with Warp Prism buff. They'll see more Protoss on ladder doing shitty drops that cost them the game. Easy ladder points. Terran and Protoss have been quietly saying that infestors were slightly too strong for a while. Guess Blizzard agreed. It was pretty ridiculous that overseers cost more than observers. Good change on that part, but the contaminate change is a head scratcher. I guess since since overseers cost 50 less gas now, it's easier to make 2 and lock down a hatchery for a while in ZvZ. | ||

Sentry Guardian Shield now correctly reduces damage from Hellion, Void ray, and Colossus attacks as well as the Siege Tank’s sieged attack. This's interesting. I didn't know guardian shield doesn't work against Siege tank. But now I guess it could help immortal/zealots/stalkers tremendously to bust 1/1/1 build. | ||

Protoss can get away with doing 0 harassment and just walk over people with a deathball, and yet they get the buff because after 0 creativity against the 1/1/1 they cant beat it blizzard needs to bail them out. From the matches I have seen 1/1/1 is beatable and is clearly just as hard to defend as to execute well at the top level. | ||

The blue flame nerf seems extreme, halving the bonus damage is a lot, I think changing 10 -> 7 or 8 might be more appropriate, whatever the minimum is to need three shots I guess? even then actually, I'm not sure you can nerf bfh and not nerf +2 banes, those are totally just as bad. The rax change seems random and completely uncalled for... Warp prism is good although +60hp is *alot* | ||
