I love starcraft 2 and how incredible well built it is, like models, animations, however there are tons of things I would love to be able to have from scbw. Also check out sc2 brood war where they have all the sounds and even units from scbw in sc2
These are those great misc things like sounds and icons.
The petition
The petition is to raise attention for blizzard to add lovable sounds like the marine stim and firing or the so distinctive muta sound as unlockables in the same way icons and portraits are unlocked.
This even extend to icons like having the overmind portrait instead of the overlord or kerrigan or maybe even have players like idra, mc, jinro, white-ra, Huk as icons instead of the overlord/executor/assistant (I proposed this in another thread and got very successful critique)
It would also promote more achivement hunting (I personally dislike achivements BUT it would make it more fun in every regard)
Imagine going at it with scbw marine sounds or even music from scbw! Other things extending (Thank you Otak) are things like theme pictures post win/loss.
What do you guys think of the idea of having things like music and icons as unlockables? If you like it then please sign up for the petition in the thread and il add your name ^^ If you dislike the idea then please put forward criticism (For example you might not be interested and that it would just be cluttering and uneccessary)

This will not ever happen. They want to establish SC2 and make it equal to Brood War, they want to drill these sounds into your head so you will get the same sense of nostalgia from SC2 as you do from BW.
I mostly just want the marine shooting and the zerg sounds, the rest are alright IMO. Still, sign me up 'cause I think it'd be a great thing for Blizzard to do.

It should just be a given. It would take next to no time at all to do and would be very easy to add a sound template swap Anything encouraging DLC-esque shenanigans is ridiculous. Or do we want another celestial unicorn mount debacle or whatever that ludicrous WoW money making scheme was?
Sign me up. To be honest though, I doubt this will happen. Your best bet would be editing the MPQ. It's against the TOS. I have to say that so 20 people don't ask me, "Is it against the TOS?" or, "Can you get banned for it?" There is a risk of doing it but chances are you will be fine. I haven't done it and unfortunately I can't lead you to a guide but I know it is very well possible.
I don't get it. You're petitioning, on TL, to ask Blizzard to allow players, the majority of which don't knwo about progaming, to replace unit sounds and portraits with old versions or joke versions.
There's just so many things wrong here:
- Don't use TL as a petition signup page. - Don't use TL as an avenue for changing SC2. - Please think through your ideas more than "Wouldn't this be cool?" before opening a thread.
