I wanted to get my name changed,so i can't post this 500 post technically. But the amount of stupidity that you show in this thread is just something i can't comprehend. I'm a Sc2 player and i love watching Sc2,but at the same time it introduced me to Bw and shown me how many great matches there are,I really grown to love the prolegue.
I really feel sad that a idiot like you posts something like this in the BW section because all it does is widen the gap between BW and Sc2 community.
I just want to apologize for this dumbass, not all of us that love sc2 have spawned form the angry, self glorifying wow,EA community.(which I'm pretty sure he comes form there).

In the words of Rodney King, "Can we all just get along?" it's the way you approached us, go back to your pretty game and reflect
This. Please reread your own posts. From the very start, your pretty much implying that bw is a shitty game. Think what happens when someone goes to SC2 forums and say the same thing. Obviously the reaction is gonna be similar.

Why break your mouse when you can punch your brother? Why take a bath when you can walk your dog?
Why play SC2 when we can go troll the BW forums?

Right now the only thing SC2 has going for it is that it is fresh and new unit and strategy wise. Everything else is just inferior.
It is well known that many top foreigners dislike SC2. Idra, Nony, Ret, etc. They just play it because the SC2 scene is so big because SC2 is new.
Why is SC2 so popular now? Because of the graphics? It is basically the same gameplay concept. Because it is easier to play? I don't understand why there's all these people blowing up the SC2 scene, throwing money at it and raving about how amazing RTS esports is. We had SC BW for 12 years and people outside Korea largely ignored it. Why? Because of flashy graphics that serve nu purpose? I think the graphics are actually really important. It expands the viewer market to more than just those who understand the game thoroughly. In SCII, you can not understand what a 7rax all-in means but still enjoy the game visually because its aesthetically pleasing. Oh lord almighty...
Really, is there no mod around? Or are they watching this thread and taking sick, sadistic pleasure from it. D:

I refuse to watch womens tennis until average breast sizes are brought up by 2 and a quarter cup sizes and tennis balls used are purple my favourite colour.

In the words of Rodney King, "Can we all just get along?" We play because it is fun. Way more fun than SC2.
And you're OP did look like a troll topic. Change the subject a bit, and you would be trying to "cure" us from being gay. You made playing BW sound like something that's just weird and nobody should ever do now that SC2 is out.
Again, BW is a game that is ridiculously fun. Chances are we play it because it is fun.

EDIT:
I think the graphics micro are actually really important. It expands the viewer market to more than just those who understand the game thoroughly. In SCII BW, you can not understand what a 7rax 8 rax all-in means but still enjoy the game visually because its aesthetically pleasing impressive.

To be fair not every progamer thinks that way. From a recent interview with Nada:
"Q. What are your thoughts between SC1 and SC2
In SC2, the graphics are very nice and the overall mechanics of the game is easier so it’s easier to play, but because of that, each battle and strategy becomes more important. For example, many units in one control group tends to bunch up so you have to be careful to spread them in battle. As for strategy, there are many that just simply end the game if you are not prepared, so you have to be extremely careful, especially in the beginning of the game. What people say about early game scouting being difficult is true. However, through my vast experience, I have to predict by feel what my opponent’s strategy will be."
"Q. Many people consider TvT a matchup very similar to SC1, what are your thoughts on this?
No, I think it is much harder. With the added units like Banshees and Marauders, it is hard to find the right balance of units. In SCBW, it was a positional game like Go (the black and white board game), involving positional and mental battles, but in SC2 there is the added dimension of unit composition. I think that TvT, especially in SC2 is both dynamic and fun. Haha."

I can only assume that people who dislike Brood War's graphics have unfortunately only played the game on an LCD screen. Low resolutions look much nicer and crisper on a CRT (which is why the progamers use them).

all of them
is more fun, reqiueres more skills and im a korean bw fanboy

They are important. That's why I prefer SC BW graphics,
When I play chess I can pick a 3d simulated marble chess board with ornate pieces, shiny surface, shadows, etc. Or I can pick an ugly plain board like this one: http://carlo17.home.xs4all.nl/cwchessboard/withborder.png
It's so ugly but so nice to play on. Dark and lighter browns are also not nice to play on.
The only thing high end graphics do is allow sponsors to sell new hardware. And this has long been a driving force in the games world to the point where we today's games mostly have annoying gameplay, really good graphics and decent story telling.
I really liked playing the Witcher 2 and Mass Effect 2 recently. But the fighting is just pure annoyance and I just set it to easy. I used to be a hardcore PC gamer. But those games are pure story to me. Gameplay has no fun to it at all.
And don't get me started on Civ5, what a trash game.
Nada played more games of SC BW than Idra, Ret and Nony together. No surprise he wants to play another game for a change. If you do the math on the number of games he has played, it's pretty crazy. Not to mention they have media training and you never see a progamer give any relevant opinions. When Testie first played SC2 he was shocked how easy it was. Nony and Idra went out of their way to convince Blizzard of this. So did Tasteless. He described how his arguments with Dustin Browder didn't go very well. I guess this was the type of debate Browder later described in his 'confession interview'.
I do think TvT and ZvZ are improved in SC2. SC BW was never designed for esports. SC2 was, kinda. SC2 made huge compromises because it also tried to target WoW players and their mothers. Also, Dustin Browder and the other members on the SC2 team didn't understand the appeal of a competitive RTS game or why it works as a game in the first place. This is why Pillars left the team. He got frustrated. And after David Kim took over his position, he ran into the same problems. I prefer a hardcore RTS. To me SC BW is unique. To many here it is just a better version of C&C4.
To me it is just waiting for a dev studio that is going to make a hardcore only RTS. One that deliberately doesn't want to get mainstream customers. SC2 won't last as long as SC BW. So we just have to wait for that.
